Did Shang Qi and Su Ling really meet their doom, perishing inside the serpent's belly?
Not exactly.
After being swallowed by the giant python’s gaping maw, Su Ling had directly transported herself and Shang Qi into her personal space.
Once inside, they sat in the abundantly fruited courtyard, recuperating.
The arrow had exhausted Su Ling’s strength completely, leaving her feeling weak and utterly drained.
It was only after entering the space, consuming fruits and water from it, and absorbing several high-grade crystal cores that she slowly began to recover from her weakness.
That single fiery arrow had depleted all her abilities and power, a move akin to draining the very foundation. It was no wonder she was so weak, falling from the tree. Had Shang Qi not caught her, she would have been injured.
However, injury wouldn't have been unavoidable. If there was no other option, Su Ling would have had to reveal her space.
After eating a strawberry, Su Ling willed it, and a table full of food appeared before them.
Her abilities had been restored, but she was now ravenously hungry, feeling faint and dizzy from it.
Dealing with the giant python had consumed too much of her psychic energy and physical stamina. She needed to eat and then leave.
The table was laden with a dazzling array of food, practically everything, all of Su Ling's favorites.
Shang Qi served Su Ling a steaming bowl of seafood congee, while Su Ling was already digging into a bowl of hot trotters.
After finishing the trotters, Su Ling’s gaze fell upon the tender, well-seasoned braised pig's feet.
Once the braised pig's feet were consumed, she picked up the seafood congee.
After the seafood congee, it was time for her favorite raw marinated dishes and sashimi.
Having finished the raw dishes, Su Ling picked up a rich, flavorful bowl of luosifen and began slurping.
As for Shang Qi, he was wearing gloves and peeling shrimp. After filling a large bowl, he placed it before Su Ling.
Su Ling ate for a long time, so long that mountains of empty bowls and scraps accumulated before her, only then did she reluctantly stop eating.
After wiping her mouth, Su Ling looked at Shang Qi, who was still eating seafood congee, and said, "What a shame about this giant python."
Shang Qi grunted, finishing his seafood congee and putting down the bowl. He echoed Su Ling’s sentiment, "Such a massive python, if it were made into smoked meat, it would be enough to feed the castle for months."
But the python was too immense to handle, so they could only wait for the fire to turn it to ash before they could leave.
Su Ling picked a pomelo and began peeling it. Thinking of Chu Jin, who was still outside, she said while peeling, "That Chu Jin fellow, he wouldn't do anything foolish, would he?"
Having asked, Su Ling quickly activated the space's link to the external surveillance cameras.
Upon activation, the first thing she saw was a screen of complete blackness.
Seeing this, she suddenly realized, "Oh, we are currently inside the giant python's body."
As she spoke, Su Ling switched the camera feed.
The camera shifted to the exterior of the giant python, focusing on Chu Jin.
And so, Su Ling and Shang Qi witnessed everything Chu Jin was doing.
Watching Chu Jin flailing about like a headless fly, Shang Qi said, "Give him a hint. He looks so lost and disorganized."
Su Ling grunted, handing Shang Qi a gas mask and protective suit. After donning them, the two of them exited the space.
Upon leaving the space, their vision was immediately plunged into darkness.
However, as they could see as clearly in the dark as in daylight, their abilities were unimpeded, and they quickly assessed the situation.
They were inside the giant python’s body. As for their location, Shang Qi's observation led him to conclude they were likely near the python's neck.
To give Chu Jin a hint, Su Ling moved a ladder out of the space.
She propped the ladder up, and she and Shang Qi each took one side. Stepping onto it, she began hacking furiously at the giant python with her Tang blade.
