Xu Yan felt she had embarrassed herself completely, and prolonging the situation would be of no use.
It was better to leave now. With this thought, Xu Yan looked at the uniformed man and reached out to him, "Where are my departure supplies?"
Before the uniformed man could speak, Xu Yan said herself, "Your supervisor mentioned that for those who don't wish to stay, they would provide departure supplies to ensure the safety of those leaving on their journey."
The uniformed man chuckled at Xu Yan's words, rubbing his nose as he looked at her. "You really think you've lived too long."
This was clearly a warning.
But Xu Yan was indifferent. She had nothing left to lose; the barefoot were not afraid of the shoed.
If pushed too far, she would resort to desperate measures and bite back!
The uniformed man saw the intention in Xu Yan's eyes. His smile became bright and strong. "Wait, I'll get it for you."
Xu Yan stayed put, and the uniformed man turned and left.
Not long after the uniformed man left, he returned carrying a bulging bag.
"Here you go," the uniformed man said, throwing the bulging bag to Xu Yan.
Xu Yan looked at the bag thrown towards her and quickly raised both hands to catch it.
The bag was so heavy it nearly bent Xu Yan's waist, and she almost stumbled forward.
Holding the bag, Xu Yan found it to be heavy, and she struggled to carry it. However, she was unwilling to let go, gritting her teeth as she slung the bulging bag onto her shoulder.
The moment the backpack was on her back, Xu Yan's spine was bent.
After shouldering the backpack, Xu Yan looked at the uniformed man. "Please lead the way."
Although she knew the way out of the castle, she wanted someone to guide her, not to walk alone.
The uniformed man, arms crossed, looked at Xu Yan. He was too lazy to indulge her request, only saying, "If you don't leave soon, I'll drag you out of the castle myself. Whether you live or die is up to your own fortune."
"We men are used to killing zombies and don't know how to spare women. So, scram!"
Hearing the uniformed man's words, Xu Yan pouted. "Fine, we'll never meet again."
The uniformed man put his hands in his pockets and looked at Xu Yan casually. "Go on, I'll watch you leave."
Xu Yan looked at the uniformed man, waved at him, and turned away with the very heavy bag on her back, leaving under his gaze. After a few steps, she suddenly stopped and looked back at the uniformed man. "So unromantic."
With that, Xu Yan left without looking back.
The backpack was heavy, and Xu Yan walked away with her back hunched.
The uniformed man followed behind the departing Xu Yan, his hands in his pockets, step by step.
His mission was to ensure Xu Yan left the castle, and only by seeing her off would his task be complete.
He also wanted to go to the mess hall to join his comrades for some banter.
But he couldn't now; he had to finish his mission.
Carrying the bag, Xu Yan, under the uniformed man's 'escort,' left the castle.
Standing outside the castle, Xu Yan stopped and turned to look back at it.
The uniformed man stood at the castle's entrance, watching Xu Yan.
Xu Yan gave him a devilish smile, then turned her head and looked towards a place in the distance emitting a bright light.
It was evident that this place was not just Su Ling's castle, but that other people had also set up camp here.
With this thought, Xu Yan looked towards the dark forest not far away.
She felt she needed to go to that place; she had a hunch that it was her destiny!
But before that, she needed to change her clothes.
