The longer the time dragged on, the more intense Xu Du's physical pain became.
Later, it wasn't just physical pain, but also physiological and psychological.
Xu Du was in a terrible state. The flames Shang Qi had thrown at him were unlike anything known. After scorching and cooking the flesh on Xu Du's body, they burrowed into the skin and flesh, digging deeper layer by layer, slowly and thoroughly cooking Xu Du from the outside in.
This torment left Xu Du in unbearable agony.
Shang Qi watched Xu Du groveling and begging for mercy, finding him surprisingly resilient.
However, Shang Qi was too indifferent to Xu Du's pleas.
Xu Du knelt before Shang Qi, his pain so severe he could no longer speak.
He couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed onto the ground, his body curled into a ball.
The flames had finished consuming his body and were now burning his internal organs. He writhed on the ground in agony, spitting blood.
The excruciating, bone-deep pain made his eyes bulge, his face covered in bulging veins, giving him a truly monstrous appearance.
Xu Du was arrogant and proud, but he had met Shang Qi. With Shang Qi as his opponent, his defeat was inevitable.
Time ticked by, and everyone watched Xu Du's death throes, his shrieks chilling the blood.
Xu Du's horrific state caused the esper abilities on his side to turn pale, seeing Shang Qi as a demon.
Initially, Xu Du could still struggle and beg for mercy. But gradually, he lost the ability to form coherent words, only able to emit guttural moans.
As time passed, Xu Du stopped struggling and moaning altogether, lying on the ground spitting blood.
At first, he could spit blood, but eventually, he couldn't even do that.
Finally, Xu Du was completely cooked from head to toe.
Shang Qi, meanwhile, looked at Wen Shangsheng and Chu Jin and said, "Throw him over to them. Let them eat."
Shang Qi always kept his word. Those he deemed as dead would never live.
Chu Jin and Wen Shangsheng were very obedient, especially Chu Jin, who was utterly impressed with Shang Qi after this battle.
Soon, Shang Qi and Su Ling's people, working with Chu Jin and Wen Shangsheng, tossed the thoroughly cooked Xu Du to Shang Qi's men.
Xu Du's group of esper abilities watched, their faces turning ashen with fear as their leader was thrown before them.
Shang Qi looked at them and directly ordered, "Eat."
Eating was out of the question. Although Xu Du's followers were wicked, they still felt some gratitude towards the leader who had brought them glory after the apocalypse. Despite their lack of a moral compass, they were not entirely ungrateful.
"You are pushing us too far!"
The one who stepped forward to speak was Sun Sui, who had followed Xu Du in his wickedness even before the apocalypse.
When Xu Du was injured by Shang Qi and became a defeated foe, Sun Sui had repeatedly wanted to sneak attack Shang Qi. However, Shang Qi's vigilance had offered him no opportunity, so he had to endure.
Now, with Xu Du being thrown to them, it was a blatant humiliation. Sun Sui could no longer tolerate it.
Shang Qi remained silent. He merely glanced at Sun Sui, then spoke to Wen Shangsheng, "Can you handle it?"
This was Shang Qi's way of asking Wen Shangsheng to step forward and deal with Sun Sui.
Wen Shangsheng had been eager to fight, and upon hearing his third brother's words, he nodded vigorously, "Don't worry, Third Brother. Leave it to me. I can handle it."
After responding to Shang Qi, Wen Shangsheng looked at Sun Sui. "Your leader was killed by my third brother, and I understand you jumping out to speak for him. How about this? You fight me. If you win, we won't kill you all and won't slaughter your city. Of course, you'll have to obediently open the city gates and let us pass."
