"If he wants to meet the King of Hell sooner, by all means, don't stop him," Shang Qi finished, picking up his water cup to drink.
The eyes that had been warm towards Su Ling were now icy, devoid of any warmth.
Although Wen Shangyin was Shang Qi's elder brother, the bond between the two was strained.
Especially after Wen Shangyin had relentlessly pursued Shang Qi, any remaining brotherhood had long since vanished without a trace. To Shang Qi, Wen Shangyin was dispensable; his life or death was of no consequence to him.
If Wen Shangyin, in his overestimation of himself, was determined to rush to his death, how could his own brother possibly stop him!
Although Chu Jin was unaware of the brotherhood between Shang Qi and Wen Shangyin, he could tell from Shang Qi's tone that he harbored no good feelings towards Wen Shangyin.
This discovery piqued Chu Jin's curiosity. He glanced at Shang Qi and said, "I can tell you really dislike this Wen Shangyin. That's strange, if you dislike him so much, why did you form an alliance with him?"
Having finished the lychees, Chu Jin grabbed a few more from the table.
Shang Qi didn't look at Chu Jin, his gaze fixed forward, his expression cool and indifferent. "We need manpower and resources to establish a new base, and he has them."
The implication was that they were tolerating him for the sake of the new base.
Upon hearing this, Chu Jin shook his head in disagreement. "Before, when you hadn't met me, you needed him, which is understandable. But now that you've met me, he's become rather insignificant."
"Look, I've already shown you the way regarding supplies. As for manpower, that's simple. At worst, I can sacrifice a little and let those zombies help you with the heavy lifting."
After saying this, Chu Jin scratched his head. "Though I don't think they're very reliable, they're a bit stupid."
Even though he could command them, those zombies were single-minded and difficult to coordinate.
Speaking of which, Chu Jin, with his mouth full of lychees, looked at Shang Qi and said, "Looking at it this way, Wen Shangyin isn't entirely without value."
"However—" Chu Jin looked up, casting his gaze at the calm Shang Qi and Su Ling. "Wen Shangyin has a poor understanding of his own abilities. If you let him rashly take risks, and something truly unfortunate happens to him, where will you find manpower?"
"Those people obey Wen Shangyin. If Wen Shangyin 'gg's, this matter will be very tricky to handle."
When Wen Shangcheng arrived, he happened to overhear Chu Jin's words. He pulled up a chair, sat down, crossed his legs, and picked up where Chu Jin left off. "Don't worry. If my elder brother truly meets with an unfortunate end, then my third brother will take over everything from him."
Heh heh, it would be as if their elder brother had paved the way for their third brother.
Chu Jin was a little bewildered by Wen Shangcheng's statement and looked at him with a confused expression. "What do you mean?"
Wen Shangcheng picked an orange from the table and began to peel it. He glanced at Chu Jin and explained, "That Wen Shangyin is my eldest brother. Shang Qi is my third brother. I have a second brother, but he was weak and died. Oh, and I have a fourth brother, Gu Shangse."
"So, you don't need to worry about losing manpower if my eldest brother has an accident. That's impossible. As long as my third brother is here, everything will be fine."
Chu Jin stared blankly at Wen Shangcheng for a long moment after his explanation.
Good heavens, he really hadn't expected Wen Shangyin and Shang Qi to be brothers.
Fortunately, these brothers had a strained relationship; otherwise, his earlier words would have been incredibly offensive.
Shang Qi seemed to sense Chu Jin's thoughts and looked at him. "Don't worry. Although he's my elder brother, we are on opposing sides. In fact, he is my enemy."
