Chapter 301 My Home Was Robbed

She sat on the trunk of the scooter, her legs dangling in the air, clutching the bananas she was reluctant to eat.

Though she was a zombie, she was still a child of a few years. The sudden weight of her sitting on the scooter caused it to be overloaded.

The scooter wobbled along the road for a while. If it weren't for Shang Qi's good driving skills, they might have fallen.

Su Ling glanced back at the little zombie king, who was sitting on the trunk facing away from her. She raised a hand to her forehead, finding it quite endearing.

The little zombie king sat on the trunk, its pair of deep blue eyes gazing at the empty land on either side of the road. It tilted its head, appearing to be in thought.

After staring for a long time with no interest, it lowered its head to look at the scattered bananas in its arms. It then noticed its own tattered and dirty shoes. Seemingly disgusted, it kicked off the shoes with both feet, revealing its feet with very long nails.

It was pleased with its bare feet and now swung them back and forth.

While Su Ling and Shang Qi were heading to the coast to gather some spoils, it was this time in Lucheng.

Under the scorching sun, several dented cars were driving along.

Three small cars and two large trucks – this was a team out searching for supplies.

Judging by the scene, they should have finished their search and were returning with full loads.

Soon, this team arrived at the Lucheng survivor base.

However, upon seeing the current state of the survivor base, they were all stunned, staring at the scene before them in disbelief.

They had only been gone for a few days, so how could their once thriving base have turned into ruins upon their return?

They didn't even need to search for survivors to ask what had happened. Just looking at the tragic scene before them, they knew what had occurred. The base, and the people within it, were all gone, all dead, perished in this fire.

For those returning with collected supplies, this was utterly unbelievable.

The base was not short of ability users. Fire alone should not have been enough to cause the base to be engulfed in flames.

What use was disbelief?

The base was destroyed, people were either dead or had fled. Where could they find anyone to ask what had happened?

At the center of the team, a man with bulging muscles, a large build, and an imposing presence, his head shaved close, looked sternly at the ruins and broken walls before him, his lowered hands clenched into fists.

The person beside him looked at him and asked, "Brother Peng, what do we do now? We've returned with full loads, but Brother Qiang and Brother Tian are nowhere to be found. Even our base has become a pile of ruins..."

Though they said "nowhere to be found," they knew in their hearts that they were dead.

However, some things, even if known, couldn't be directly stated. One had to feign ignorance.

The man called Brother Peng was a junior of Peng Qiang (Brother Qiang), named Peng Yansheng. He was also the one Peng Qiang had inquired about Brother Tian's return from the supply search.

Peng Yansheng's abilities were speed and metal. Individually, these were rather weak in the early stages, but when combined, their effect and power were immense.

This was also why Peng Yansheng was highly valued by Peng Qiang and why he was able to return with full loads every time he went out to search for supplies.

It was no exaggeration to say that half the credit for the survivor base's supplies was due to Peng Yansheng.

Unfortunately, Peng Qiang and his group had not lived to see this return of Peng Yansheng's full loads.

And instead of the warm reception Peng Qiang personally gave him every time in the past, Peng Yansheng was greeted by the desolation of the entire base.

Peng Yansheng did not answer his subordinate's question. He suddenly turned his head and looked towards a certain spot behind him, his gaze sharp.

Before everyone could react to what was happening, Peng Yansheng had already moved.

Peng Yansheng dragged out the person who was secretly peeking from the shadows and threw them onto the cement ground with a 'bang'.

He lifted his foot and stomped on the chest of the peeper, whose appearance was obscured by the dark clothing, and said, "Speak, who sent you?"
