Chapter 295 The Voice in the Heart

Su Ling looked at the enormous hailstones, her mind flooded with images of the fruit orchards she had passed on her way there.

Bananas, papayas, jackfruit, pomelos... It was a pity they would all be destroyed.

She had initially planned to ditch Shang Qi and the others once dawn broke, take her electric scooter for a leisurely ride around the island, and then gather some of the fruit.

Now, it seemed that plan had been utterly ruined.

The moment she returned to the stationed troops, she immediately put her mobile fortress into her space.

Otherwise, with hailstones of this magnitude hitting it, all that would be left of her castle when the hail stopped would be a battered wreck riddled with holes.

Just as Su Ling was lamenting the fate of the fruit, the hailstones gradually lessened, eventually stopping altogether.

Most people paid no mind to this brief hailstorm, simply thinking it had passed.

However, for Su Ling and Shang Qi, who were experienced and had been through similar events, it wasn't that simple.

This was like a prelude, a preparation before a storm. It lowered people's guard, and then, once people had completely forgotten the destructive power of the hail, it would return with a vengeance, catching everyone off guard.

Seeing that the hail had stopped, people gradually began to return to their rooms to rest.

Shang Qi and Su Ling remained under the eaves, gazing at the dense layer of hailstones.

After everyone had dispersed, Su Ling looked at Shang Qi. "Is it because we're at sea?"

"I'm not sure, but things aren't that simple," Shang Qi replied. He then turned slightly to look at her. "Are you tired?"

Su Ling shook her head. This whole ordeal had energized her; she didn't feel tired at all.

"If you're not tired, shall we go gather supplies?" Shang Qi took Su Ling's hand and looked up at the night sky. "This hail won't fall again for a while. But I'm not sure when it will sweep through again. Those vast fruit orchards cannot be destroyed by hail."

Hearing Shang Qi's words, Su Ling narrowed her eyes slightly. "Shang Qi, wait for me here. I'll be right back."

With that, Su Ling broke free and turned to run.

Shang Qi stood in place, watching Su Ling's retreating figure with doting eyes.

It was strange; in this lifetime, he couldn't hear Ling's thoughts anymore.

His Ling had truly grown up and become incredibly powerful!

Jiang Jiang had just returned to the dormitory and was about to lie down when Su Ling knocked and then pushed the door open after a few seconds.

He wasn't alone in this room; Gu Shang Se and a few others were there. They secretly breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Su Ling enter, fortunate they hadn't been too quick to take off their pants and get into bed. Otherwise, it would have been incredibly awkward.

"Sister."

Jiang Jiang and Bai Yu Ling spoke almost simultaneously, both turning to look at Su Ling standing at the doorway.

Su Ling walked towards Jiang Jiang and stopped in front of him. "Jiang Jiang, can you sense when the next wave of hail will arrive?"

Jiang Jiang nodded at Su Ling's words, then closed his eyes to begin foreseeing.

Perhaps because foreseeing was too difficult, half of Jiang Jiang's face gradually turned pale, and his forehead began to bead with sweat.

A few minutes later, Jiang Jiang opened his eyes, breathing heavily. He looked at Su Ling. "The second wave of hail will appear tomorrow noon. And this time, it will last for a long time."

He then bit his lip. "Regarding this weather, I'm very excited, I'm looking forward to it."

Su Ling patted his shoulder after hearing Jiang Jiang's words. "It's perfectly normal for you to be excited and look forward to it. In the future, use your weather-forecasting ability more often; it can help us avoid sudden extreme weather."

Praise from Su Ling made Jiang Jiang smile sheepishly. He touched his head. "Understood, Sister."
