"Want."
The response to Su Ling was the synchronized voices of the Bai siblings.
Su Ling looked at Gu Shangse, who was about to leave, and asked, "Together?"
As for Gu Shangse, he had already stopped and turned to look at Su Ling when he heard her inquire about the Bai siblings.
Hearing Su Ling's question at this moment, he let out a hum.
Thus, Su Ling and Gu Shangse, with the Bai siblings in tow, left the mobile fortress and went to the night city streets where they hunted zombies.
Su Ling lured a few zombies over, teaching the Bai siblings how to deliver a fatal blow to them with their abilities.
As for Gu Shangse, after accompanying them, he rode his bicycle and disappeared on his own.
At first, the Bai siblings were clumsy, slow, and struggled to deal with zombies. Sometimes their minds and bodies were not synchronized, leading to blunders and an inability to handle the zombies, often being chased by them instead.
Su Ling sat on a chair, legs crossed, chin resting on her hand.
When necessary, she would intervene to help the siblings deal with zombies.
But for the most part, the siblings could cooperate and deal with the zombies with tacit understanding.
With each accumulated experience, the Bai siblings became more adept and skilled.
After they got used to fighting zombies, Su Ling taught them how to pry open the zombies' heads to retrieve crystal cores after killing them.
When they dug out the crystal cores, she then taught them how to use the crystal cores to replenish their energy.
Su Ling, as the teacher, taught very diligently, and the Bai siblings, as students, also learned earnestly.
Although they had joined Su Ling's team and latched onto her as a powerful ally, they did not choose to be idle.
The siblings constantly remembered that they had a large family to support and that they had to try harder to showcase their abilities.
Knowing that Su Ling's mobile fortress required crystal cores as energy, they had already decided that in the future, when they went out to hunt zombies, they would gather more crystal cores for Su Ling. This way, they wouldn't feel like they were freeloading and being useless.
People only feel confident when their value is recognized.
Otherwise, they would start doubting and questioning themselves, feeling utterly useless.
The Bai siblings did not want to be idle. Thinking about how far behind they were compared to Su Ling and the others, they trained very seriously that afternoon.
When their abilities were depleted, they would absorb energy from crystal cores to recover them, following Su Ling's method.
This cycle continued until the sun dyed the entire sky red.
Su Ling, sitting on the chair, stretched and yawned, covering her mouth, and looked at the Bai siblings.
After an afternoon of training, the siblings were drenched in sweat.
"Wrap up for today, let's go back, shower, and eat," Su Ling said as she got up, picking up the chair she was sitting on.
As Su Ling and the two siblings walked towards the mobile fortress not far away, bathed in the sunset's glow, from a corner of the street behind them.
Gu Shangse emerged, riding his bicycle. Someone seemed to be sitting on the back of his bike.
By the time Gu Shangse caught up with Su Ling and the siblings on his bicycle, they had already reached the castle gate.
The Bai siblings, covered in sweat, had already spoken to Su Ling and gone into the castle to their rooms to shower.
Su Ling, however, was called to a halt by Gu Shangse.
After stopping his bicycle, Gu Shangse took down a white, fluffy bear plush toy that was secured to the back seat.
"I saw it when I was passing by," Gu Shangse said, handing the bear plush to Su Ling. "I thought you might like it."
Along with the bear plush, he also handed over a small bag of crystal cores.
The rosy sunset cast its glow on Su Ling and Gu Shangse, making the moment beautiful and romantic.
Su Ling indeed really liked the white, fluffy bear plush. She opened her arms to receive the toy and the bag containing the crystal cores.
Hugging the bear plush, Su Ling tilted her head and looked at Gu Shangse. "You guessed right, I really do like it."
