When Su Ling arrived at Gu Shangse's location with Bai Heqing on her bicycle, they had just finished collecting crystal cores and were resting on the street piled with zombie corpses.
Upon seeing Su Ling, Gu Shangse was the first to get up.
As soon as Su Ling's bicycle stopped, Bai Heqing hopped off the back and stood properly.
Her gaze swept over Gu Shangse and his companions, then returned to Su Ling. "Are they all your teammates?"
Su Ling, with one foot on the ground while seated on the bicycle, softly grunted in response to Bai Heqing's question.
Bai Heqing nodded in understanding. She looked at the zombie corpses scattered on the ground, at the gruesome scene of shattered heads and brains splattered everywhere, and she witnessed and experienced the power and terror of Su Ling's team.
After confirming that Su Ling's teammates were also strong and capable, Bai Heqing continued her inquiry, "Where is your residence?"
Su Ling glanced at Gu Shangse and the others, her voice indifferent. "We're heading back now. We won't be out this afternoon."
Su Ling and her team returned to their castle's location. Bai Heqing looked at Su Ling and the others, utterly bewildered.
She wanted to ask something, but couldn't figure out where to start, so she could only watch quietly for Su Ling's next move.
As time passed, Bai Heqing felt as if the sun overhead had dimmed.
"Is it going to rain?" Bai Heqing muttered to herself and looked up at the sky. The moment she did, she froze in place.
She didn't see the sky. She only saw a semi-spherical object slowly descending.
After the semi-spherical object landed on the ground, Bai Heqing swallowed and stiffly turned her neck to look at Su Ling. "Is this your shelter?"
It felt like something out of a sci-fi movie!
In response to Bai Heqing, a door slowly opened on the semi-circular wall.
As the door opened, Gu Shangse and the others walked inside, one after another.
After they had all entered the castle, Su Ling looked at Bai Heqing. "Would you like to come up and tour your future residence?"
Facing Su Ling's invitation, Bai Heqing gulped repeatedly. She looked at Su Ling and asked, "Are you guys aliens?"
"Are you tricking me into coming up, then using me for experiments? Or, treating me as your food?"
Accustomed to Bai Heqing's vivid imagination, Su Ling felt a sense of familiarity. "My ability is Castle Construction."
Those eight words explained everything to Bai Heqing.
After Su Ling finished speaking, she stepped forward.
Seeing this, Bai Heqing hesitated and struggled for a long time before finally stepping forward to follow.
The stairs of the castle were not dark during the day; they were brightly lit.
Bai Heqing followed Su Ling up the stairs. Standing at the top of the castle, she froze in place, utterly stunned by the sight before her.
Vegetable gardens, fruit trees, luxurious villas... Bai Heqing felt like she was dreaming.
Convinced she was dreaming, Bai Heqing raised her hand and slapped herself across the face without a word.
"Damn, that hurt." Cupping the side of her face that she had slapped, Bai Heqing walked around the castle once before stopping between a lychee tree and a cherry tree. She looked at the tempting fruits and then glanced at Su Ling, who was watching from a distance. "Can I try them?"
After receiving Su Ling's permission, Bai Heqing didn't hold back and began eating lychees and cherries.
Meanwhile, Su Ling looked at Gu Shangse and the others who were putting things away. She opened her mouth and explained, "Just like Sister Na and Hanhan, she and the male who hasn't appeared yet are the people I need to find. I was lucky to meet them early."
"Also, it's likely that our castle will be joined by some new members."
