"So I'm willing to leave here with you."
"Take me away."
Melborne's words were almost a benevolent declaration, but as soon as they left his lips and he raised his hand to make a gesture, a figure suddenly appeared before Duan Chen.
It was a snake.
In a daze, everyone seemed to see a giant snake's eye, but then they saw a dark, coiled snake on the table.
"Jin An?"
Duan Chen's voice was tinged with surprise, unable to discern if this was the contracted beast he had subdued.
The black snake responded to his call.
Jin An impatiently flicked his brows.
It was hard to imagine how a snake could have eyebrows, but it genuinely gave the impression of moving them.
"It's me, so what?"
After saying this, Jin An's gaze shifted to Melborne.
Jin An hissed with hostility.
"You want to contract with this kid too? I'm telling you, no way."
Melborne froze when he saw Jin An, then his gaze couldn't help but flit between the two, or rather, between the person and the snake.
A more amused smile spread across his lips.
"Interesting, very interesting. It seems following you was the right choice."
Jin An couldn't help but bristle.
Though snakes have no fur.
"Did you hear me? I forbid it."
Melborne, the elegant scholar,
suddenly displayed a sharp aggression when facing Jin An.
He raised his hand mockingly and sarcastically, tapping the snake's head lightly.
"Do you think I'll stop just because you forbid it?"
"Do you think you still possess your former abilities? Look at you now, you've been reduced to this."
"Truly pitiful, pathetic, and lamentable."
"No wonder your 'consigner' chose me over you."
'Consigner.'
Duan Chen keenly captured this word during their conversation and committed it to memory.
Hearing the word, Jin An's emotions exploded instantly.
A vicious glint appeared in his eyes.
"I warn you, don't spout nonsense."
Melborne chuckled, amused.
"So, he hasn't become your consigner yet? Then I apologize, I might have to get there first."
At this moment, Duan Chen had to interrupt him.
"May I ask, Mr. Melborne, what exactly is a 'consigner'?"
Melborne tilted his head.
This seemingly girlish posture looked incredibly strange on him.
The smile on his lips widened.
"So this snake told you nothing?"
Jin An flicked his tail in annoyance.
Melborne spoke softly.
"A consigner, of course, is someone who contains us. You didn't know that anomalous beings can be contained, did you?"
"Contain?"
The word wasn't entirely new to Duan Chen.
But it still left him puzzled.
"Isn't the utilization and control of anomalous beings considered containment?"
Upon hearing this, Melborne burst into laughter as if he had heard something fantastical.
"No, no, no, of course not."
"Containment means becoming the master of an anomalous house."
"Do you think these anomalous beings in the world are so easily contained? Otherwise, why haven't we seen a single flourishing 'consigner' until now?"
"Oh, no, wait."
Melborne recalled scenes from his memory, and a more peculiar smile emerged.
He suddenly dropped a bombshell.
"It seems you don't know the method of containment?"
"No wonder..."
Meanwhile, in the Divine Palace.
Wu Suowei had not yet left.
The Silhouette Monster, seeing the scholar appear in the water mirror, was utterly enraged and swept the chessboard in front of him aside.
His eyes held deep fear and disbelief.
"How is this possible? How can this guy be in this worldline?"
"What did you do? Did you tamper with something?"
Both questions were directed at Wu Suowei.
"Little Wang wishes you a lucky New Year."
"All troops, attack."
"Whose little deer girl is this? Not cute at all..."
Wu Suowei, controlling a default skin character, casually manipulated his phone, topping off his jungler with his own persona.
He didn't even bother to listen to the Silhouette Monster's nonsense.
He raised his eyebrows.
"Do you think I'm the type to play dirty tricks behind your back?"
The Silhouette Monster paused upon hearing this.
He thought about it.
Indeed.
Wu Suowei wasn't the type to play dirty tricks behind people's backs.
But how could Melborne be here?
This shouldn't be happening.
However, just then, the Silhouette Monster heard Wu Suowei say.
"You're right, I am the one who plays dirty tricks behind people's backs."
His smile was sparkling.
Wu Suowei raised his hand, gave a thumbs-up, and revealed a row of white teeth.
He grinned brazenly.
He could have advertised toothpaste.
The Silhouette Monster's eyes widened in disbelief, though no one could see it.
"How did you do it?"
"This guy shouldn't be here at all."
"You've merged other worldlines, you lunatic!"
Wu Suowei calmly raised his eyes, which suddenly began to shift, reflecting a pure, glass-like sky.
His tone was also indifferent.
As if nothing in the world could affect him.
"It's just the merging and merging of other worldlines."
"Why are you reacting so strongly?"
The Silhouette Monster gritted his teeth, feeling a deep tremor.
"You're going to ruin this world!"
"Let it be ruined then."
Wu Suowei's answer was beyond the Silhouette Monster's imagination.
The Silhouette Monster was stunned.
Then he heard Wu Suowei's icy voice.
"In any case, this is the last game. Why shouldn't I play as I please? You've been arrogant and unrestrained for so many games, it's time for me to be in control of one."
At this moment, the Silhouette Monster felt that some of his inner thoughts had been exposed, and he felt as if he had been stripped naked in the biting cold.
His teeth chattered uncontrollably.
"Which worldline did you fuse?"
Wu Suowei suddenly smiled.
"Worldline ninety-two."
"Don't worry, the show has just begun."
