Chapter 24 The Fatal Question

Michelle felt a pang of jealousy. She knew in her heart these red-clad brides were not human, but seeing them in their wedding attire, and Duan Chen in his suit, it truly looked like they were about to enter the bridal chamber.

"Jealous?" Wu Suowei pulled out some sunflower seeds from goodness knows where and started cracking them on the desk.

"No, no, no! Absolutely not! Don't, don't talk nonsense!" Michelle cupped her face in her hands, her cheeks flushed crimson.

The boys, however, cast envious glances, especially Four-Eyes, whose eyes turned green with envy.

He was academically gifted and cunning, far from the honest and loyal appearance he projected. Ten minutes were almost up, and if he didn't take some action soon...

Sun Xiaoxiao had already latched onto the Divine Pupil Agent. He would be the next most likely to die.

This was not good.

He furtively glanced at the students whispering beside him. As soon as their eyes met his, they immediately fell silent.

Four-Eyes glared at them with hatred, knowing full well they must be plotting how to get rid of him.

He pondered for a moment. The red-clad brides weren't that terrifying, and it seemed each one was a beauty beyond compare.

If he could subdue one and have her serve him, wouldn't that be majestic and awe-inspiring?

His classmates would surely not dare to insult him again, and he could remain unscathed within the perilous space!

With this thought, Four-Eyes gritted his teeth and lunged towards a closed door.

Grade 12, Class 5.

"Hey! Where are you going!? Are you trying to die?" Michelle yelled. Four-Eyes didn't look back.

She wanted to stop him but was a step too late.

"Life or death, often a matter of a single choice. That was his own choice," Wu Suowei watched his retreating back, as if he were already looking at a dead man.

*Bang!* He violently pushed the door open, and an eerie, chilling aura rushed towards him. Four-Eyes shivered and looked into the classroom, dimly lit by red candles, resembling a bridal chamber.

The red-clad brides, standing still, all turned their heads in unison.

He was stunned, his glasses slipping askew on his nose.

Behind this door, there were densely packed eight red-clad brides!

His legs went weak. He wanted to run, but the closest red-clad bride had already latched onto him. The beauty smiled alluringly at him and began to sing. Flames flared up with her song, and Four-Eyes cried out in pain.

How could he not have known being entangled by a red-clad bride was so agonizing? He hadn't heard Duan Chen cry out like this at all!

When he finally endured it, he was drenched in sweat, his heart filled with dread. If not for the immobilizing spell, he would have collapsed to the ground, his legs like jelly.

The red-clad bride looked at Four-Eyes tenderly and said, "My husband, let us marry."

Four-Eyes stammered, "Okay..."

"Then if we quarrel, and I run away from home, will you actively contact me?"

Four-Eyes heard this and thought, *Problem-solving? This is my forte.*

He pushed up his glasses and analyzed the situation from aspects of context, hypothesis, verbs, nouns, time, and space. Confidently, he replied, "Of course, I will actively contact you. I will also come to find you."

However, the red-clad bride was not satisfied with this answer. Her voice and demeanor instantly turned icy.

"So, you will still quarrel with me!"

Four-Eyes immediately broke out in a cold sweat. So that was the trap!

Although he was good at solving problems, he had never dated and didn't understand women's minds.

This kind of question was simply a death sentence.

"No, no, no, I won't quarrel with you..."

"I'll give in to you in everything, and listen to you. I absolutely won't quarrel with you," Four-Eyes said meekly.

The red-clad bride, however, didn't listen to his explanation at all, emanating a chilling aura.

*Boom!*

Something in his head exploded. Four-Eyes's mind instantly collapsed. His eyes rolled back, tears and snot streaming down his face, like an imbecile, unable to even think basic thoughts.

"So ugly, how could you be my husband."

The red-clad bride flicked her sleeve, and the fire of red lotuses bloomed. Four-Eyes instantly burst into flames.

"Ahhhhhh!! Help, help!!"

He scrambled out of the classroom, rolling and crawling.

The burning figure didn't get far before he was reduced to a charred corpse.

The classmates were extremely shocked, averting their eyes, unable to bear watching. A few girls who felt nauseous turned around and gagged.

Meanwhile, Duan Chen, who had entered Grade 12, Class 1, also emerged, with six more beautiful red-clad brides by his side.

Everyone flinched, gazing at Duan Chen with admiration.

"Brother Duan Chen is bearing too much alone..." Michelle's heart ached, almost to tears.

Her deskmate grabbed Michelle's arm and said enviously, "Your crush is a great hero."

Michelle blushed and stammered proudly, "He's, he's, he's not my crush at all! Don't, don't talk nonsense! Ugh, how annoying~"

"Why are you stuttering?" Wu Suowei looked at her with amusement, suddenly finding this girl rather cute.

If she weren't an ordinary person, perhaps she could be cultivated. After all, there were still positions for pawns...

Suddenly, Wu Suowei's gaze sharpened. It fixed on the hilt of a sword pendant on Michelle's chest, and he frowned slightly.

"What is this?"

Michelle said proudly, "My father left it to me."

"So you're his daughter... No wonder, so that's how it is," Wu Suowei murmured, his eyes seeming to gaze into distant memories.

"You knew my father?!" Michelle's eyes lit up.

"Yes, he... was a good person," Wu Suowei smiled faintly and didn't say anything more.

Duan Chen glanced at the charred corpse on the ground and sighed regretfully. Qin and Sun's faces were ashen, their pupils trembling, as they walked mechanically.

It was too terrifying. Although Duan Chen was controlling the situation, that 'bridal chamber' was absolutely not a place for humans!

Especially for Sun Xiaoxiao, she thought that if Duan Chen hadn't taken her in, she would have suffered the same fate as Four-Eyes.

Although her family background was far inferior to Michelle's, in terms of figure and appearance, she knew she wasn't much worse. And Michelle, that rich girl, was reserved and cared about her reputation.

She was different; she could give everything!

Just as Duan Chen and the others entered a new classroom, a long, thin, dark arm extended from the ceiling of the corridor. Teacher Liu laughed and snatched away Four-Eyes's burnt heart.

"Students, a new round of time has begun, hahahahahahahaha..."

Everyone cowered, yet felt a little fortunate that it wasn't them who died.

Eight minutes later.

All six classrooms had been searched, but the array core was not found. However, Duan Chen was now followed by over 40 red-clad brides.

The procession was grand and magnificent, a sea of red, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the entire corridor.

The last door. It seemed the array core was inside.

As the door opened, Qin Ze and Sun Xiaoxiao habitually lowered their heads and entered. To their surprise, the teacher's office was not filled with numerous red-clad figures this time.

Only a single red-clad bride, with a noble and stunning aura, sat elegantly in a bridal sedan chair.
