Chapter 566: Reluctant to Leave

Chapter 566: Chapter 566: Reluctant to Leave

In the private room, besides Franklin Yates, there are several other bosses.

Franklin Yates has been busy talking to them since he came in.

Joy Quinn and Willow Young are busy singing karaoke.

While Willow Young is singing, Joy Quinn secretly slips a white pill into her drink.

After Willow finishes her song, Joy happily hands her the drink.

"Have a few sips quickly, look how hoarse your voice has gotten from singing."

Willow doesn’t suspect anything and drinks it all in one go.

She exclaims after finishing, "Joy, the drinks here are really delicious."

Franklin hears her words and chuckles, "If you like it, I’ll have the waiter send some more over."

"Thank you, Uncle Yates." Willow thanks him repeatedly, once again amazed by this man’s mature attentiveness.

Watching the budding affection in Willow’s eyes, Joy’s lips curl into a slight smile.

About half an hour later, Joy receives a phone call.

After taking the call, Joy appears rushed.

"I have to head back first."

"Oh? You’re leaving now?"

Willow looks somewhat reluctant.

It’s her first time in such a lavish and extravagant place, and there are many things she hasn’t tried yet; she doesn’t want to leave so soon.

"My mom told me to hurry home and turn off the electric stove. She forgot the soup pot and rushed out to play mahjong, only just remembering now."

Joy looks troubled.

"Your mom’s still the same."

Franklin laughs.

Joy gives an awkward laugh, but feels secretly smug inside.

Amanda Ford always loved playing mahjong, frequently leaving things on the stove to go play, then calling the maid to turn it off when she remembered.

Franklin often encountered such situations when visiting their home.

So Joy used this to add credibility to her excuse.

"No choice, she just can’t kick her mahjong habit."

Joy shared a helpless smile with Franklin, then turned to Willow, "Willow, why not stay here a bit longer and head back later."

"No need."

Willow says this, but anyone with eyes can see she doesn’t want to leave.

Franklin notices this too, and says, "It’s okay, Joy, you head back first. I can make sure this classmate of yours gets home later."

Willow’s eyes light up at this.

The handsome older man really is considerate.

Joy wants to refuse, but Willow interrupts, "Okay, Joy, you go ahead. I’ll hang out a bit more and take a cab back later if anything."

"Alright then, I’m heading back."

Joy leaves with a slightly hesitant air.

But no one notices the glimmer of triumph in her eyes as she walks out.

*

Time flies, and it’s already midnight.

The people Franklin was discussing business with in the room have been called home by their women, leaving only Franklin and Willow.

Willow finishes her song and takes a few more sips of her drink, only to find Franklin drinking alcohol.

A mature, wealthy man exudes a refined elegance in every gesture.

Even his drinking posture is intriguing.

Willow can’t tear her eyes away.

Franklin notices her gaze when he puts down his glass.

"Want to try a sip?"

Franklin jokingly asks.

Unexpectedly, Willow nods.

So Franklin carries the glass to Willow’s side.

"Give it a try; it’s quite a strong flavor, but it might go to your head."

Willow takes a sip from Franklin’s hand, "So strong!"

Franklin looks at the younger girl’s lips, his eyes dim and deep.

Willow also senses the ambiguous closeness between them, the atmosphere off, and quickly rises, "It’s quite late, I should go home."

With that said, she hastily stands up to leave.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she stands, a wave of dizziness causes her to fall right onto Franklin’s lap...
