Chapter 283: Still Not Asking for Peace?

Chapter 283: Chapter 283: Still Not Asking for Peace?

"Reporting to Gage, this restaurant opened three days ago, and their signature dishes are almost identical to ours."

The manager of the first branch honestly reported to Eleanor Gage.

"The signature dishes are the same?" Eleanor Gage was slightly skeptical.

But her son, Stephen Stone, said, "Our restaurant specializes in Western cuisine, and even our signature dishes are made following foreign recipes. Other Western restaurants also follow foreign recipes, so having identical signature dishes is understandable."

Because some of the dishes at Phaeton Restaurant were recipes Stephen learned while studying abroad.

So in his view, it wasn’t surprising that others were making similar dishes.

"Does that mean their discounts are more significant than ours?"

Eleanor Gage, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window on the second floor of the restaurant, eyed the bustling scene at the neighboring Forbidden Fruit Restaurant, feeling quite displeased.

For a long time, their restaurant had been relatively popular due to its international-style dishes and menu.

Even their old rival, Kate’s Bistro, lagged far behind in this aspect.

But who would have thought that in just a few days, a Western restaurant with a menu almost identical to theirs would appear, and crucially, it attracted even more customers than they did.

At this rate, their market share would be completely taken over.

"Let’s do this. We will also offer discounts and set the price of each dish 5 yuan lower than theirs."

Winning the price war would bring back the customers, or so Eleanor Gage thought.

"Go ahead and make some flyers to distribute in high-traffic areas, and put up huge promotional posters. Paste them right next to The Forbidden Fruit Restaurant’s entrance so their customers can immediately see our discount."

"Understood. I’ll get right on it."

The manager of the first branch hurried into action.

After dealing with business, Eleanor Gage saw Stephen playing with his phone, "Did Vivian Lynn text you asking to get back together?"

Indeed, she had just seen Stephen chatting energetically on WeChat, so she subconsciously assumed Vivian Lynn was begging for reconciliation.

Unexpectedly, Stephen only replied, "It’s my brother. He’s asking if I want to join him and his friends for drinks tonight."

Eleanor Gage’s eyebrows immediately furrowed, "You’re not young anymore; it’s time to settle down. You can’t go out drinking and partying every night. It’s a waste of time and bad for your health."

"I know, I know. It’s just occasional fun, not an everyday thing." Stephen was quite perfunctory.

"Why are you all so worrisome?" Eleanor Gage couldn’t help but complain.

Many of her peers already had grandchildren, and their children had taken over the family business, managing it quite successfully.

In their family, however, they hadn’t formally taken over the company or gotten married and had children.

After all, Eleanor Gage was still eager to have grandchildren.

Thinking about this, she asked again, "Has Vivian Lynn called or texted to ask for reconciliation?"

"No."

Since that day at the hospital, Vivian Lynn hadn’t called or sent a message to Stephen at all.

"So long, and she hasn’t asked for a reconciliation? It seems she thinks that since she’s pregnant with a child of the Stone family, she can lord over us and wait for us to apologize to her!"

The more Eleanor Gage thought about it, the angrier she became.

Vivian Lynn hadn’t even studied abroad; in her eyes, she wasn’t worthy of her son, let alone of being the mother of her precious grandchild.

The earlier car accident was a test of their family’s attitude, and while it played them for fools, that was one thing.

Now she dared not apologize proactively?

It’s simply unforgivable!

A lesson needed to be taught!

Otherwise, if they really apologized to her first, she’d surely turn the world upside down once she married into their family.

"Stephen, listen! Even if Vivian Lynn texts or calls you now, you ignore her. Unless she personally comes to apologize, she’s never stepping through the doors of our house."

"Understood." Stephen didn’t hesitate at all.

It’s not like he didn’t think about Vivian Lynn, but since she’s pregnant now, there’s nothing to be done.

Instead of reconciling now and becoming a monk, he’d rather take the opportunity to have some fun with a few pretty girls.

At the gathering his brother mentioned tonight, there would be several young, beautiful women.

Stephen’s mind was entirely on those girls at the moment.
