Chapter 236: Chapter 236: A Lunatic
"Miss Quinn?" Seeing July Quinn unresponsive, Holly Houston reached out and affectionately pulled July’s hand.
Her intent was to witness July Quinn’s flustered expression.
Unexpectedly, July suddenly flipped her hand and caught Holly’s.
The force was considerable, nearly causing Holly to lose control and cry out.
But then July suddenly curved her lips and asked, "Miss Houston, do you really want me to participate in your show that much?"
She couldn’t understand it at all; Holly had already been rubbing up against the ground, yet she still had the nerve to keep scheming against her!
"Of course, you’re the C position in CC, GIRLS."
She said this, but in her heart, Holly scornfully ridiculed: "Just know how to compose some tunes, certainly can’t dance. Otherwise, why hasn’t she danced or performed live once in all her years at GIRLS? What C position? It’s definitely because her dancing and singing abilities are lacking, so they slapped this useless title on her."
Perhaps the mocking intent in her eyes was overly obvious, causing July Quinn to notice as well.
Hence, July Quinn tightened her grip significantly.
Yet Holly didn’t make a sound, her smile only growing broader.
Because the way July was gripping her hand had already been seen by Holly as a sign of July’s anger and embarrassment.
In any case, July’s reluctance yet inability to refuse participation made Holly exceedingly happy.
So much so that the pain July imposed on her didn’t really matter.
"In that case, I’ll agree to participate."
July suddenly released her hand.
Perhaps it was a hallucination, but when July let go, Holly thought she saw a chilling coldness in her eyes, accompanied by disdain and mockery.
It must have been a hallucination.
Someone like July, destined to struggle at the bottom all her life, couldn’t possibly have that kind of look.
Comforting herself, Holly quickly grasped the microphone and said her closing remarks, "Once again, thanks to Miss Quinn for the wonderful performance..."
But July didn’t even glance back and left directly.
July’s departure wasn’t just to the backstage but out of the auction venue altogether.
Standing on the bustling street, she irritably lit a cigarette.
Hoping the nicotine might take away all the vexation.
Yet not even a few puffs in, the cigarette was snatched away.
July turned around angrily to see Kyle Keaton with her half-smoked cigarette in his mouth.
Facing the night breeze, smoke wafted around Kyle.
His eyes, already deep enough to disturb, appeared even more alluringly profound.
Just seeing Kyle with her cigarette, July found the scene excessively ambiguous.
She tried to snatch the cigarette back but was seized by the waist.
"Who was that just now?"
Still holding the cigarette, he controlled July’s hand reaching for the cigarette with one hand and embraced her waist with the other.
Through the smoke, his gaze was piercingly sharp, intimidating.
"Justin Callahan? An enemy."
July remained indifferent, attempting to free herself and seize her cigarette once more.
But Kyle intensified his grip, holding her securely, speaking again, "Not him. The guy in the duckbill hat!"
The man spoke succinctly, directly pointing to Liam Monroe.
July narrowed her eyes slightly, finally flashing a charming smile: "He’s... a lunatic!"
