Chapter 536: Chapter 536: His Warning
"You hit me? How dare you hit me!"
Bianca White shouted, nearly losing control.
Ever since her parents passed away, she had been taken into The Keaton Estate.
To the outside world, she was almost like the Keaton Family’s daughter; no one would dare to say a harsh word to her, let alone hit her.
But now, July Quinn had hit her right in front of Kyle Keaton.
At the same time, Kyle Keaton was momentarily stunned seeing July hit Bianca.
He was about to step forward to stop the potential fight between the two women when July suddenly leaned close to Bianca’s ear.
"Because you hired someone to kill me. So tell me, don’t you deserve a slap?" July lowered her voice, her lips curling in a chilling smile.
The group that came to trouble her while she was eating instant noodles had confessed to knowing someone with the surname White, and July had suspected this woman beside Kyle was involved.
Now that this woman had said her own surname, the person who hired the henchmen could easily be identified as her.
Given the situation, July naturally had to vent her anger.
Bianca’s expression froze upon hearing this.
Previously, the hoodlums she hired to deal with this woman suddenly became unreachable, and she wondered what had happened.
It now seemed that they had probably received some benefit from July and had betrayed her.
Before Bianca could respond, July had already seen the truth in her expression.
It seemed she hadn’t wrongly accused this woman!
July stood up, and when she turned around, she saw Kyle standing right behind her. She simply hooked her arm around his neck, kissed his charming jaw, and then turned to look at Bianca.
"Today, my husband came to find me on his own, so I’m in a good mood. I’ll let it slide this time. But remember, next time don’t overreach, or a slap will be the least of your worries."
Bianca: "..."
Even though she was still full of anger, she didn’t want July to reveal her involvement in hiring a killer in front of Kyle.
So, she ultimately decided to swallow her rage and left the office.
As soon as Bianca left, Kyle pulled away July’s hand that was resting on his neck and questioned coldly.
"What did she do for you to hit her like that?"
He felt that July’s motives for hitting Bianca were unusual.
But damn it, July had lowered her voice so much earlier that he couldn’t hear what they were saying.
However, as soon as he spoke, July’s expression suddenly turned cold.
"What, are you worried about her now?"
"No, but..." Kyle wanted to ask something.
But July didn’t give him a chance to continue asking. "If not, then let’s not talk about her."
She stepped forward, placed her hands behind his waist, and buried her face in his chest.
She’s only human, and there are times she feels exhausted.
Especially recently, preparing for the clinic and dealing with casino matters has consumed a lot of her energy.
Without him around, she doesn’t sleep well and often wakes up from nightmares in the middle of the night.
So now, she missed the scent of him terribly.
Seeing this woman cling to his chest like a stray dog, Kyle almost wanted to push her away.
But his body seemed to crave this moment of embrace, so he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Until the woman in his arms, with a nasal tone, asked him, "Why did you come looking for me today?"
Kyle snapped back to reality, somewhat annoyed.
Annoyed with himself for acting unlike himself because of this stranger’s closeness.
Because of this annoyance, he pushed July away and, in a voice cold enough not to sound like himself, said:
"Whatever schemes you have, you can target just me. Don’t implicate innocent people."
