Around three in the afternoon, Ning Beichen drove Liu Yilin to the Yuan Lai Coffee Shop.
As Ning Beichen accompanied Liu Yilin into the coffee shop, he again encountered the obnoxious couple from the airport that day.
To his surprise, Liu Yilin actually sat down at a table opposite them.
"Could it be that this obnoxious pair knows Liu Yilin?"
Ning Beichen remained silent, pondering in his mind as he stood behind Liu Yilin.
The couple also recognized Ning Beichen, especially since he hadn't even changed his clothes.
"It's you, you uncivilized person! You bumped into my cousin and didn't even apologize. I thought you were some big shot, but you're just a bodyguard."
The curly-haired woman spoke to Ning Beichen with harsh words.
Liu Yilin, on the other hand, was completely confused, not knowing what had happened between them before.
"Cousin, forget it, it's a small matter. Since he's Yilin's bodyguard, let's not argue with him."
At this moment, the man spoke from the side, acting like a saint.
This made Ning Beichen feel utterly speechless. He wondered how such a person could survive for so long. If only his father had...
It was clearly his own fault for bumping into someone, yet he was shamelessly saying such things without an iota of guilt. Ning Beichen truly couldn't fathom how he could utter them.
Had no one found him displeasing and beaten him up all these years?
"Ning Beichen, what's wrong? Do you know them?"
Liu Yilin asked Ning Beichen, bewildered.
Before Ning Beichen could reply, the curly-haired woman, playing the victim, accused Ning Beichen of being uncivilized, of bumping into her cousin at the airport without apologizing, and even of using foul language towards her.
Liu Yilin glanced at her strangely. Although she hadn't known Ning Beichen for long, she knew he wasn't that kind of person. She suspected there might be more to the story.
"Are you done talking? If so, it's my turn."
Ning Beichen didn't want to get into an argument with them, but he wasn't the type to be slandered without explanation. He recounted everything that had happened at the airport that day.
Throughout his description, he remained impartial, neither elevating himself nor demeaning them, but stating the facts.
"Boss, if you don't believe me, we can go to the airport and check the surveillance footage."
Ning Beichen said this ostensibly to Liu Yilin, but it was clearly directed at the obnoxious couple.
"Fine, you're accusing me of being uncivilized, aren't you? Then let's check the surveillance. Do you dare?"
Hearing Ning Beichen mention surveillance footage, the curly-haired woman became flustered, knowing the truth couldn't withstand scrutiny.
'Forget it, my cousin doesn't want to waste time with such an uncivilized bodyguard.'
"Alright, cousin, stop talking. You can't expect everyone to be as civilized as us. I came to meet Yilin today. Let's just give Yilin face and not bother with this little bodyguard anymore."
Wang Bin finally spoke up.
Ning Beichen felt a surge of nausea. His cousin was the epitome of shamelessness, but this cousin was even more extreme. Fortunately, he didn't have such relatives. Otherwise, before anyone else could discipline him, he would have slapped him to death himself to save him from embarrassing others.
"Wait a moment..."
"Did that epitome of extremes just say he was here to have a blind date with Liu Yilin?"
"Oh my god!"
"Has the boss been reduced to the point of going on a blind date with this absolute jerk?"
Ning Beichen covered his mouth and recoiled in mock horror, finding it unimaginable to picture the consequences of Liu Yilin being with this person.
"That's not right!"
"Liu Yilin is still very much in demand. She's beautiful, wealthy, and a CEO. If she were to announce she was looking for a boyfriend, not only would the entire Haizhou New City go crazy for her, but the men lining up would stretch from the entrance of Tianmei Technology Group all the way to the subway station miles away. Why would she need to go on a blind date? And with such an extreme specimen?"
However, these matters were none of Ning Beichen's concern. He could only stand by silently, as he wouldn't stoop to badmouthing others in front of them. He wasn't as shameless as those two.
"Yilin, I thought you wouldn't come. You know, I've liked you for a long time. You're the only one in my heart. I'm truly happy that you're here," Wang Bin said fervently to Liu Yilin, his eyes filled with excitement.
"Wang Bin, I'm here to make things clear. I won't be with you. Also, please stop going to my mother. My mother cannot make decisions for me," Liu Yilin told him.
"Yilin, why are you so heartless? Don't you know I've loved you for many years? Can't you give me a chance? What have I done that's not good enough?" Wang Bin hastily stood up and said.
"No, it's not that you're not good enough. It's that I'm not good enough, I don't deserve you." Liu Yilin couldn't even be bothered to find an excuse and answered him directly.
"Yilin, I won't allow you to say that. In my heart, you are excellent. I know I'm slightly more excellent than you, but it doesn't matter. I won't mind. As long as you're with me, I will treat you with all my heart," Wang Bin immediately assured Liu Yilin.
"Pfft!"
At this inopportune moment, Ning Beichen's snicker was particularly jarring, causing Wang Bin to glare at him fiercely.
"Excuse me, Boss, do you need me to step out?" Ning Beichen really couldn't hold back his laughter. He was so amused by this extreme individual that his stomach was cramping.
"No need, I'll leave immediately." Liu Yilin was also rendered speechless by him. He couldn't even grasp her obvious sarcasm. She wondered if her mother had been charmed or something to agree to this.
"Alright then, Boss, can you hurry? I'm afraid I won't be able to hold back," Ning Beichen muttered softly.
"Wang Bin, I've made myself very clear. We are not compatible, and I don't like you. Let's end this here today." Liu Yilin had no intention of continuing to entangle herself with him. Her main purpose for coming was to give her mother an explanation.
Now that she had met him and fulfilled her mother's request, she had never said she would agree to date Wang Bin.
"Yilin, do you really have to be so heartless? If you miss me, you'll regret it. You'll never find someone as outstanding as me again," Wang Bin called out unwillingly.
