Chapter 227 Can't Be Tough

"Tell me, where is she?"

The light in Ning Beichen's eyes was like a glacier devoid of warmth, as if what he had just cut off were mere chicken claws, not living fingers.

"Sold... sold her to someone else."

Ou Ke wasn't being tough; no matter how tough he tried to be, he couldn't stand up to Ning Beichen.

Ning Beichen's eyes flashed with a cold light. Just as he was about to make a move, he heard Ou Ke's frantic shouts.

"There's still a chance... there's still a chance, the ship set sail tonight."

"Where was she sent?"

Ning Beichen retracted his ferocity and asked him.

"Yelu, she'll be sent to Yelu tonight."

Ou Ke just wanted to survive. He didn't need Ning Beichen to force him; he began to try and save himself.

"When did the ship leave?"

His willingness to surrender saved Ning Beichen a lot of trouble; otherwise, another interrogation would have wasted more time.

"The ship left at eight o'clock tonight."

Ou Ke said hastily.

Ning Beichen checked the time. It was already past one in the morning, meaning the ship had been gone for five hours.

"When will the ship arrive in Yelu?"

Ning Beichen asked him again.

"If the ship doesn't encounter any storms or accidents at sea, it will arrive in Yelu around four in the morning."

Ou Ke replied.

"Is there any way to make them stop the ship? Or turn it back?"

Ning Beichen asked.

"I... I can make a call and have them turn the ship back."

Ou Ke immediately said.

He was in so much pain that he was on the verge of fainting, and even breathing was difficult. Yet, he was afraid that if he spoke too slowly, his other hand's five fingers would also be lost.

"Do it now!"

Ning Beichen pulled his hand away, drawing the arrow from Ou Ke's wrist. With a tug, blood spurted out like fireworks. Ou Ke cried out in pain again.

His wrist was a bloody mess, but Ning Beichen showed no hint of pity, let alone any gentleness.

Ou Ke didn't even dare to faint now. Although his vision was blurred and he felt groggy, he forced himself to stay conscious and picked up the phone on the table to make a call.

However, the call couldn't be connected, filling Ou Ke with dread and fear. He was afraid that Ning Beichen would think he was lying and simply cut him down without asking any questions.

"There might be no signal at sea."

Ou Ke explained to Ning Beichen with fear in his voice after several failed attempts to connect.

"Keep trying."

Ning Beichen said expressionlessly.

It wasn't that he wanted to waste time here; the ship had already sailed for several hours, and it was too late to catch up now.

Even taking a plane would mean waiting until tomorrow, and Ning Beichen knew there were no direct flights from Morocco to Yelu. To fly there, one would have to transit through a third country.

Therefore, no matter how anxious he was, it was useless. Moreover, the Black Widow was long gone, and without her private jet, Ning Beichen had no way to reach Yelu immediately.

Another reason was that Ning Beichen wasn't sure if Ou Ke was telling the truth. Rushing off without verification would be an irrational decision.

Ou Ke had no choice but to keep dialing, but he couldn't get through to anyone on the ship.

Ning Beichen suddenly frowned, grabbed Ou Ke by the neck, and asked, "Has this ever happened before?"

Ou Ke shook his head in extreme fear. This had never happened before. Although they traveled by sea, there were no communication issues on this route.

Besides, he hadn't just called one person; he had called over a dozen people, and all of them were unreachable.

"Call again. If anything happens to Isabella, you, and the Nu Gui Group behind you, will be prepared to be buried with her!"

Ning Beichen threatened him fiercely.

Ou Ke nodded with trepidation. It wasn't that he didn't want to contact them; it was that he truly couldn't.

If Ning Beichen had said this to him before, he would have just sneered, thinking Ning Beichen was ignorant and that no one had dared to threaten the Nu Gui yet, so who did he think he was?

But now, Ou Ke no longer dared to think that way. This man had single-handedly infiltrated this place; he was certainly capable of dealing with others.

Furthermore, the lingering smell of blood throughout the building clearly told him that this man was not someone to be reasoned with, and his methods were far more brutal than theirs.

However, after half an hour, the calls still hadn't gone through, and even Ou Ke was starting to lose his composure.

Ning Beichen's expression grew increasingly grim. He took out his own phone and made a call. Less than ten minutes later, three fighter jets scrambled from a certain mysterious overseas island, flying directly towards the strait between Yelu and Morocco.

Around four in the morning, news reached Ning Beichen.

They had found the ship at sea and sent people to investigate. The ship was covered in blood, but there were no bodies; it was suspected that the bodies had been dumped into the sea.

Ning Beichen's men analyzed and judged the traces left on the ship, concluding that the vessel had most likely encountered pirates, as all the cargo was gone, including the women they were transporting to Yelu.

Ning Beichen put down the phone, turned around, and a cold glint flashed in his hand. Ou Ke's neck now bore a thin red line.

Ning Beichen walked out without looking back. After a few minutes, Ou Ke's body crashed to the ground, his life extinguished.

Kangpu and Charles walked behind, their legs weak and their hands trembling, not daring to approach the chilling Ning Beichen.

Only after they had left the building did Ning Beichen stop and say to the quivering Charles:

"Help me tell the people behind Nu Gui that I don't care who they are. If Isabella cannot be found, even if they are emperors, I will personally exterminate their nine generations!"

Charles nodded frantically. If he hadn't personally witnessed all this tonight, he would have thought Ning Beichen was just bluffing.

"Kangpu, your identity might be exposed. Even if it isn't, it won't be difficult for them to find out you were with me. You should leave here as soon as possible and have Saidongshasi transfer you elsewhere."

"I understand, Mr. Ning."

Kangpu's attitude towards Ning Beichen was now more respectful than his attitude towards Saidongshasi.

"Alright, I'm going to look for those pirates. You can't help me with this, so you don't need to follow me."

Ning Beichen told him.

"Yes, Mr. Ning. Please be careful, those pirates are ruthless."

Kangpu said to Ning Beichen with utmost sincerity.
