The snowflakes whirled skyward, transforming into sharp swords that rained down, guided like missiles towards the monstrous creature on the ground.
The monster, perhaps sensing the attack's potency, suddenly expanded its three-meter frame to five meters. Then, Ning Beichen watched as a swarm of white light orbs shot from the curved horns atop its head.
These orbs intercepted the descending snow-swords, deflecting most of them. However, a small portion still pierced the creature.
A series of "pu pu pu" sounds followed.
The snow-swords left multiple gashes on the monster's body. Blood stained the white snow, eliciting a series of piercing screams from the beast.
By this time, the attack, "A Sword Astonishes the Wind and Rain," had concluded. Though bleeding profusely, the monster was still alive, its life not extinguished. However, it now harbored a deep wariness of Ning Beichen.
Seeing it prepare to flee again, Ning Beichen would not allow it. He immediately unleashed "A Sword Astonishes the Wind and Rain" once more.
This time, the attack's range was vaster, as if the entire snowy mountain was Ning Beichen's sword, piercing through the void, emanating from the heavens or the depths of the underworld.
The monster's eyes flashed with ferocity. Its body swelled again, growing several meters taller. Its fur shed, coalescing into a thick layer of scales on its skin.
Ning Beichen observed the creature's transformation, a familiar image flashing in his mind: it resembled Godzilla.
Yet, the similarity was only in the scales, and both were immense. Beyond that, it bore no resemblance to Godzilla.
"Good, let's see if you can still block this sword of mine!"
Far from being afraid, Ning Beichen was excited.
Since becoming the pinnacle of power in this world, he had rarely encountered a worthy opponent. Those who had shed their mortal coils were utterly defenseless, failing to ignite even a spark of exhilaration in Ning Beichen.
"Kill!"
"Roar!"
Ning Beichen bellowed "Kill!", and the monster let out a furious roar. Relying on its massive frame and hardened scales, it charged forward, its fist smashing towards the snow-swords.
With a thunderous "boom!"
Where the monster's fist landed, a black vortex appeared. This vortex, like a colossal void, seemed to tear a hole in space, sucking in all of Ning Beichen's snow-swords.
To use a more intuitive analogy, it was as if the monster had punched a hole from the inside of a flying airplane, creating a siphon effect.
However, this absorption of snow-swords came at a cost. Numerous wounds appeared on the monster's body, and blood poured down like a torrential rain.
At this moment, its other arm, over three meters long, with all its might and despite its injuries, swiped viciously towards Ning Beichen.
Ning Beichen, witnessing this, did not evade. He met the monster's claw with a punch.
This time, however, Ning Beichen employed dimensional attack.
In the dimension invisible to the naked eye, a fiery fist surged towards the monster's body.
Just as Ning Beichen believed his dimensional strike would finish the monster, he was stunned to see it dodge.
Yes, Ning Beichen was not mistaken. The monster had evaded his dimensional attack.
This was the first time Ning Beichen had used a dimensional attack without hitting his target, leaving him utterly bewildered.
What exactly was this monster?
It was far more powerful than any known creature in this world.
Ning Beichen was certain that even a shed-mortal would be like a mere child before this beast.
However, the more powerful and difficult the monster became, the more excited Ning Beichen grew.
"Good, good, good! Take another punch from me!"
Ning Beichen cheered loudly and unleashed another dimensional attack on the monster.
A rumbling sound echoed.
Though the monster's punch was unseen, the "boom" of its impact could be heard, like thunderclaps on a clear day.
In another dimension, Ning Beichen's fist pounded the monster's body like a drumbeat.
This time, the monster could not evade, but Ning Beichen gained no advantage.
When his fist struck the monster's scales, it was like a tickle, causing no significant damage.
Dimensional attacks, though unseen, were not inherently more potent than Ning Beichen's regular attacks. In terms of sheer force, dimensional attacks were even weaker than his normal strikes.
The power of dimensional attacks lay in their invisibility. However, when the enemy could see or sense them, dimensional attacks became somewhat useless.
Ning Beichen found himself in this awkward predicament against the monster.
Therefore, Ning Beichen abandoned this showy style of combat, focusing instead on engaging the monster with his bronze ancient sword.
Just then, the monster suddenly went berserk, raising its colossal palm and unleashing a barrage of blows at Ning Beichen.
"Boom!"
"Boom! Boom!"
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Its palms fell relentlessly, striking the ground with the force of a massive pile driver, emitting deafening sounds that shook the very mountain.
Soon after, frequent avalanches began to occur around the mountain.
With a cliff behind him, Ning Beichen had nowhere to escape. He was ultimately slammed into the snow by the monster's palm.
Ning Beichen landed like a wooden stake. Fortunately, the ground beneath was soft, loose snow, not hard earth.
Otherwise, Ning Beichen would have sustained injuries.
Although Ning Beichen possessed the Prajna Golden Body, it could only prevent him from being crushed into a pulp against such supernatural power. Even the Prajna Golden Body might not withstand the monster's pounding.
However, Ning Beichen never relied on the Prajna Golden Body. He burst forth from the snow. Seeing Ning Beichen still alive, the monster swung its palm down again.
"Again? Do you think I'm made of soft tofu!"
Ning Beichen's anger flared. He swung his bronze ancient sword and shouted, "Sword Swallows Mountains and Rivers!"
With a rushing sound of wind, Ning Beichen's bronze ancient sword instantly transformed into a colossal blade, slashing towards the monster's palm.
With a "swish."
In the pitch-black night, a lightning chain, like a coiled dragon, appeared.
A crack of thunder.
A massive palm, dripping blood, flew into the sky.
However, this palm was not raised; it was severed by Ning Beichen's bronze ancient sword.
