Not long after, Ning Beichen's figure reappeared, looking excited.
His guess was correct. Although they seemed to have broken the formation, it was actually a formation within a formation. They were still outside the true blessed land, having not yet successfully entered.
Brilliant!
What an exquisite formation.
If Ning Beichen hadn't had a sudden inspiration and recalled a drawing he had once seen, he wouldn't have realized it.
However, this kind of formation, while seemingly mysterious and complex, was quite worthless once understood, and very simple to break.
Seeing Ling Jue and Zhao Yingdie's astonishment, Ning Beichen smiled slightly and explained his discovery to them.
This left Ling Jue and Zhao Yingdie in shock.
Zhao Yingdie, in particular, who was most skilled in formations, was profoundly moved by Ning Beichen's words.
Following this, Ning Beichen guided them on how to leave the area.
Indeed, after Ling Jue and Zhao Yingdie followed Ning Beichen's instructions, the water around them vanished, and the isolated island disappeared. In their place, a bridge appeared, leading to a land of immortals shrouded in mist.
Ling Jue and Zhao Yingdie trembled with excitement.
Although they had come to find the ancient blessed land, they had never seen one before. Now, gazing upon this place that resembled a fairyland, their eyes were captivated.
Ning Beichen, on the other hand, had visited many blessed lands, but most of them appeared dilapidated or eerie, bearing no resemblance to a true blessed land.
This place, however, truly lived up to the name "blessed land."
Not only were Ling Jue and Zhao Yingdie excited, but Ning Beichen was too. If this was an intact blessed land, did that mean it hadn't been ruined?
"Ling Jue, go take a look. Be careful," Ning Beichen said to Ling Jue.
Ling Jue nodded and cautiously approached the bridge. Stepping onto it, he felt nothing amiss and continued forward.
There seemed to be no danger. Ling Jue boldly walked to the middle of the bridge and paused, looking around. Outside the bridge was a sea of white mist, and he couldn't see how deep it was.
Seeing no immediate danger, Ling Jue pressed on. However, just as he was about to step off the bridge, several magpies suddenly flew towards him.
These magpies were not here to bring good fortune; they were attacking Ling Jue.
Despite being only the size of an adult's fist, these magpies attacked ferociously, clearly not ordinary birds.
Ling Jue roared.
He swung his palm at the magpies above him. He was already annoyed with Ning Beichen, and now even magpies dared to bully him.
The force of his palm swept over the magpies in the air. He expected these little creatures to be no match for his power, and indeed, the bothersome magpies were blown away by his palm strike, with one even being killed.
"Overconfident little brutes."
Ling Jue sneered and was about to inform Ning Beichen that there was no problem when suddenly the sky darkened. A large bird of prey swooped down menacingly towards him.
Sensing danger, Ling Jue rolled to the ground, abandoning all pretense of dignity.
The enormous bird of prey turned out to be a magpie. It lunged at Ling Jue with its claws, missing him but leaving a deep gash on the ground.
Ling Jue felt a burning sensation on his scalp. Although he hadn't been directly clawed by the giant magpie, it had plucked a tuft of his hair.
Ling Jue became furious. He had been bullied by a bird, a mere animal!
Enraged, Ling Jue drew the sword he wore and thrust it towards the magpie in the sky.
A surge of sword energy shot upwards, like a spear piercing the heavens.
The giant magpie, however, was incredibly cunning. With a devilish flap of its wings, it evaded Ling Jue's strike. Then, it opened its beak and spat a flame of crimson fire at Ling Jue.
Ling Jue couldn't react in time, and the crimson flame struck him. The intense heat caused Ling Jue to cry out in pain. Fortunately, it only hit his arm.
However, the clothing on his arm was instantly melted by the flames, revealing the reddened skin beneath. Soon, blisters began to form on the scalded area. Any slight movement of his arm brought a searing pain as if he had pulled a muscle.
The obnoxious magpie continued its assault from above. Seeing that he had a weapon, the creature refused to descend, merely spitting fire from the air.
Ning Beichen and Zhao Yingdie were also stunned by this scene.
However, they couldn't just stand by and watch Ling Jue be bullied by a magpie. They quickly rushed forward. Zhao Yingdie went to help Ling Jue, while Ning Beichen dealt with the magpie.
But this magpie was extremely cunning.
As soon as it sensed Ning Beichen's intent to attack, it would immediately ascend and hide in the sky. It would then, taking advantage of its aerial superiority, spit flames at Ning Beichen.
Finally, Ning Beichen became incredibly frustrated. He unsheathed his ancient bronze sword and unleashed a move called "Sword Rain That Shakes The Heavens."
With a resounding crash!
Countless sword-rain droplets swept down, bringing the annoying giant magpie crashing to the ground. The magpie was covered in wounds from the sword rain, its wings torn, rendering it unable to fly.
The magpie thrashed on the ground, but with its wings injured, it couldn't fly high.
A fallen phoenix is worse than a chicken, let alone a magpie.
Ning Beichen's bronze sword flashed, and the magpie's head was severed.
To Ning Beichen, it didn't matter if it was a spirit creature; with its head gone, it could no longer be arrogant.
The headless magpie could no longer be arrogant. It lay twitching in a pool of blood. Ning Beichen even collected the carcass, believing it would likely taste good.
"Are you alright?" Ning Beichen asked Ling Jue after he had dealt with the magpie.
"I... I'm fine," Ling Jue replied, his face flushed.
Before, when he had been defeated, he had felt a sense of injustice, thinking Ning Beichen had ambushed him, causing him to lose.
But after witnessing the events just now, especially Ning Beichen's swordsmanship, he wondered if he could defend himself against Ning Beichen's attacks if Ning Beichen had used such sword techniques against him.
Ultimately, Ling Jue shook his head, lacking confidence.
"As long as you're alright. This place is rather strange, we all need to be cautious," Ning Beichen said to them.
Before long, Ling Jue's arm had significantly improved. Zhao Yingdie had applied medicinal powder, and the blisters had subsided. Apart from some redness and swelling, his arm was fine.
