Chapter 507 The Mo Family Will Not Accept Her

Hereafter, Han Xiao's eyes shifted from anger to a calculating gleam.

A subtle, conspiratorial smile played on her lips.

Upon getting into the car, she didn't head back to her own residence but instead drove to the old Mo family mansion.

This "old mansion" wasn't in their original rural hometown. It was built with the first substantial earnings from their business ventures. Mr. Mo had seen the potential of that location—convenient, accessible, and with good air quality. They purchased the land and constructed a house, which became their old mansion.

After Mr. Mo's father passed away, his mother had moved back to reside there.

Because Han Xiao's son had a low IQ, the old madam's attention towards Han Xiao had waned considerably. However, compared to that wretched Yu Gui Lan, Han Xiao still held some sway with the old madam.

Han Xiao went directly to the old mansion.

The housekeeper frowned upon seeing Han Xiao. Since giving birth to the Mo family's son, this woman had rarely shown her face here. The last time she appeared, it was with tearful pleas and dramatic displays, begging the old madam to intervene on her behalf for her marriage to Mr. Mo.

Mr. Mo's father, finding the child she bore to be intellectually challenged, had lost his prior favoritism towards her. He had stated indifferently, "I don't understand your world, young people, and I can no longer interfere with his marriage." He had effectively turned Han Xiao away.

Since then, Han Xiao had harbored resentment towards the old madam, and their interactions became virtually nonexistent.

Seeing Han Xiao again today, the housekeeper initially thought he was mistaken. But when Han Xiao greeted him, he realized he wasn't hallucinating.

After informing the old madam, she paused for a moment before saying, "Let her in."

Han Xiao was the type to never visit without a purpose. Her visit to the old mansion today was undoubtedly to request something from the old madam. Furthermore, after all these years, despite the old madam's meddling in her son's love life, Mr. Mo had never overtly complained. However, the old madam was acutely aware of the rift between mother and son.

Mr. Mo, using work as an excuse, rarely visited her. Phone calls were reserved for holidays. Whenever she expressed a desire to see Mr. Mo, he would send his assistant with expensive tonics, stating Mr. Mo was very busy. In reality, he wasn't that busy; he used to come home no matter how occupied he was. He blamed her for driving Yu Gui Lan away back then. Therefore, during Han Xiao's visit, the old madam hoped to glean information about Mr. Mo's current well-being from her. That was all.

Upon entering, Han Xiao saw the old madam and immediately fell to her knees, bursting into tears. Her crying was immensely irritating to the old madam.

When Han Xiao finished her crying fit, the old madam asked, "What is it you need from me today?"

Han Xiao paused, then cried even harder. Sobbing, she confessed, "Old madam, Old Mo knows that we were the ones who broke him and Yu Gui Lan up, and he resents us all."

This was common knowledge. The old madam was well aware of it. She desired different information. Without changing her expression, she calmly asked, "And then?"

"That wretch Yu Gui Lan, before she died, found Old Mo and told him she had given birth to a daughter named Tang Yi for him."

Han Xiao knew well that the old madam was simple-minded and detested anyone trying to scheme for her family's fortune. After all, she and her husband had built their empire from scratch. Consequently, she harbored a deep aversion to those eyeing their family's wealth. Han Xiao understood this perfectly, which was why she sought out the old madam.

Upon hearing Han Xiao's words, the old madam's expression darkened.

Seeing this, Han Xiao quickly fanned the flames, adding, "When Yu Gui Lan left, she wasn't pregnant. They had no contact for years. So, for her to claim this child was the fruit of their love just before she died... Old Mo, without much thought, agreed to have Miss Tang return to the Mo family, even forcing me out and making me sever ties with Shao Xuan. Old madam, you must do justice for me!"

The old madam frowned, her face impassive. "Don't worry, I will investigate this. If it is as you say, then I will not allow such a girl to set foot in my Mo family's home."

Hearing this, Han Xiao knew she had come to the right person. She never believed in fate; destiny was in one's own hands. Though pleased, Han Xiao feigned composure before the old madam, asking, "But, Old Mo has already decided to have Miss Tang return to the Mo family, even intending to hand over the entire Mo Corporation for Tang Yi to manage."

"Without my permission, she will not enter the Mo family's door," the old madam stated with a cold snort. She would not let anyone covet the fortune of the Mo Corporation, which she had built from the ground up.

"Didn't you just say my son drove you out? From today onwards, you will stay here with me. If he dares to object, I will hold him accountable."

This was precisely the outcome Han Xiao desired. Although her goal was achieved and she was inwardly delighted, she maintained a calm facade, asking, "Old madam, is this truly alright? I worry this might affect the mother-son relationship."

"The mother-son relationship has already been damaged. A few more incidents won't make much difference," the old madam replied. Protecting the Mo family fortune was the priority.

Han Xiao's lips curved upwards. Indeed, the old madam was so prejudiced and easy to deceive; a few words and she believed it all.

Soon, it was the weekend. Mr. Mo called Tang Yi, inquiring about her current residence. After Tang Yi provided an address, Mr. Mo drove to find her. Upon arrival, he frowned. The buildings were old, and it wasn't an elevator building. How could Yi Yi, his Mo family's daughter, live in such a dilapidated place? It was his oversight; he had been so busy lately that he had forgotten to transfer property ownership to Tang Yi.

After waiting for about five minutes, Tang Yi came downstairs. Following closely behind her was Zheng Ze Min, who was desperately pleading for her forgiveness. Seeing Zheng Ze Min, Mr. Mo's brows furrowed. How could his Yi Yi, so young, be in a relationship? Without a word, Mr. Mo stepped forward, blocking Zheng Ze Min. In the past, Zheng Ze Min would have become enraged and spoken recklessly. However, now that he knew about Tang Yi's relationship with Mr. Mo, this man might very well be his father-in-law. Therefore, Zheng Ze Min dared not show any displeasure.
