Chapter 457 Mrs. Fu, You Are a Feast for the Eyes

Fu Yan Ting did not speak, and the police officer tactfully got up and left.

After the police left, Lin Qian questioned Fu Yan Ting, "Is your uncle's death related to you?"

Hearing Lin Qian's question, Fu Yan Ting's lips curved upwards slightly. He looked at Lin Qian and replied, "Since you already have the answer in your heart, why bother asking me?"

"Fu Yan Ting, are you even human? That was your own uncle. How could you be so ruthless?"

Lin Qian looked at Fu Yan Ting, truly angry and furious.

Even though Lin Qian and Fu Yan Ting's relationship had not been good, Lin Qian had never imagined that Fu Yan Ting would do something like this.

Now that she knew Fu Yan Ting was involved in Lin Yi Cheng's death, Lin Qian could no longer control her emotions.

If Fu Yan Ting had denied it, Lin Qian would have tried to believe him for once.

But to her disappointment, Fu Yan Ting never denied it.

Lin Qian was furious, but looking at Fu Yan Ting, she didn't dare to do anything to him, so she could only get angry by herself.

Fu Yan Ting glanced at Lin Qian indifferently and said, "If you don't want to become the next Lin Yi Cheng, I advise you not to meddle in other people's business."

"Fu Yan Ting, is this how you speak to an elder?"

Lin Qian had never seen such a rebellious son.

How could Fu Yan Ting be so defiant?

Fu Yan Ting ignored Lin Qian and got up to leave.

Regarding the news of Lin Yi Cheng's suicide, Fu Yan Ting was indeed shocked when he first heard it. Based on his understanding of Lin Yi Cheng, he would never commit suicide.

Fu Yan Ting knew Lin Yi Cheng quite well; the man was greedy for life and afraid of death, and utterly useless. How could he possibly commit suicide?

It wasn't that Fu Yan Ting looked down on Lin Yi Cheng, but Lin Yi Cheng simply wouldn't commit suicide.

Therefore, when the police told Fu Yan Ting that Lin Yi Cheng had committed suicide, Fu Yan Ting found it strange, but he couldn't pinpoint why. If the police hadn't approached him again today, Fu Yan Ting might not have realized that Lin Yi Cheng was not murdered at all, but was killed.

But who would be so bold as to kill Lin Yi Cheng right under his nose?

Why didn't his subordinates inform him immediately about Lin Yi Cheng's murder?

All sorts of questions plagued Fu Yan Ting. He had to get to the bottom of what happened.

When Fu Yan Ting returned home, he intended to go straight to the study to check the surveillance. However, Yan Xi saw him return and said softly, "You're back. I just finished cooking. Come and eat something first."

His heart, torn to pieces by Lin Qian, softened upon hearing Yan Xi's words. He wasn't uncared for; at least, Yan Xi cared about him.

Fu Yan Ting put down his work, shed his aggressive demeanor, and walked to the kitchen. Yan Xi, dressed in simple sportswear, with an apron tied around her waist and her hair in a ponytail, looked unpretentious but exceptionally beautiful.

Fu Yan Ting stood at the kitchen doorway, staring at Yan Xi in a daze for a long, long time.

Perhaps spending the rest of his life with Yan Xi wouldn't be a bad thing.

Fu Yan Ting suddenly felt that fate hadn't been so cruel to him after all.

At least, fate had given him Yan Xi, and Yan Xi warmed his entire life.

Seeing Fu Yan Ting standing there motionless, Yan Xi turned to look at him and said softly, "What are you standing there for? Can you get full just by looking? Hurry up and wash your hands to eat."

Fu Yan Ting had never been cared for like this in his life.

When he was young, Mu Qing Xiang had to manage the company and often left early and returned late. He was always raised by a nanny.

The most frequent thing the nanny said to Fu Yan Ting was, "If you don't behave, no wonder your mother doesn't want you."

Therefore, to make his mother want him, he had always been obedient, never crying or complaining when bullied.

But Lin Qian still didn't want him.

He had never received such gentle admonishments as Yan Xi's.

Fu Yan Ting looked at Yan Xi and suddenly felt a surge of emotion. Standing there, recalling his childhood, his nose felt a little sore.

To prevent Yan Xi from noticing his unusual reaction, Fu Yan Ting pretended to be calm and teased, "Mmm, Mrs. Fu is a feast for the eyes."

Yan Xi turned around and saw Fu Yan Ting staring intently at her. His words, without any concealment, clearly showed he was flirting with her.

Yan Xi's face flushed. She looked at Fu Yan Ting and said calmly, "Don't dream. Who is Mrs. Fu? Don't forget, we're already divorced."

Fu Yan Ting turned and left.

Yan Xi thought Fu Yan Ting was angry. In reality, although they hadn't gone to the Civil Affairs Bureau to remarry, they were no different from a married couple in every other aspect.

They lived under the same roof, went on dates, bickered, slept in the same bed, and shared their thoughts.

Yan Xi had only said that intentionally to provoke Fu Yan Ting, but she hadn't expected him to get angry.

Yan Xi suddenly regretted it. If she had known he was so easily provoked, she wouldn't have teased him.

Who knew he couldn't handle such playful banter.

Just as Yan Xi was feeling remorseful, Fu Yan Ting came out of the room. Seeing Yan Xi, he said, "Let's go."

Yan Xi hadn't reacted yet. She looked at Fu Yan Ting and asked, "Go where?"

"The Civil Affairs Bureau. It's not five o'clock yet. Let's go remarry first."

Yan Xi stood there, speechless. She had just made a casual joke; she hadn't intended to leave Fu Yan Ting.

Could she, a grown woman, run away?

But Fu Yan Ting was insistent.

Yan Xi reluctantly reminded Fu Yan Ting, "Even though it's not five o'clock yet, it's the weekend. You don't know that the Civil Affairs Bureau is closed on weekends, do you?"

Fu Yan Ting had been wronged by Lin Qian today and was in a bad mood.

When he saw Yan Xi showing him concern, he vowed to make Yan Xi be with him, no matter what it took.

So, he was focused on remarrying Yan Xi and overlooked that it was the weekend.

Upon hearing Yan Xi's words, countless lines appeared on Fu Yan Ting's forehead.

Yan Xi observed Fu Yan Ting, and seeing his embarrassed expression, her mood instantly improved.

She had initially intended to tease Fu Yan Ting, but who knew he would be so serious and so easily flustered.

When Yan Xi mentioned it was the weekend, Fu Yan Ting said, almost through gritted teeth, "You did that on purpose."

"How could I? I just remembered it was the weekend."

Yan Xi couldn't admit it. She absolutely couldn't admit it; admitting it would mean losing.

Even though Yan Xi said that, Fu Yan Ting's eyes clearly showed that he believed she had done it on purpose.

Fu Yan Ting snorted coldly and whispered in Yan Xi's ear, "Just you wait and see how I punish you tonight."
