Chapter 518 The Colosseum

We waited, but just as the door was about to open, He Jinghui suddenly warned, "Young Master, be careful!"

The others hadn't reacted yet when a barrage of poisonous darts shot out from inside. Fortunately, He Xiaoyu and He Jinghui had already pushed everyone to the ground. Waves of cold air whizzed past our heads. If we had been even half a second slower, we would have likely suffered the agony of a thousand darts piercing our hearts.

Once the commotion above ceased, He Jinghui was the first to survey the surroundings. After confirming it was safe, we slowly rose and entered through the iron gate into a strange structure resembling a Roman coliseum.

The place was surrounded by stone seating, and a massive cylindrical pillar was built upwards, its white jade material blindingly conspicuous. As we entered, the door behind us clanged shut.

At that moment, He Jinghui declared, "Bad! This is a trap!"

However, he quickly drew his Gentleman Sword and assumed a defensive stance. He Xiaoyu remained silent but also scanned the area.

After about a second, roars echoed from all directions. We discovered that numerous low doors had opened along the base of the cylindrical wall, and countless wolves poured out from below.

"This really is a Roman coliseum!" He Xiaoyu said with a wry smile. Seeing dozens of wolves surround us instantly, she showed no signs of nervousness.

Woof! Woof!

The wolves barked fiercely, eyeing us menacingly. Then, from an unknown source, melodious music began to play. The wolves, which had initially been focused on us, became agitated upon hearing the music and lunged at us with full force!

He Jinghui and He Xiaoyu were the first to act. Xiao Yuande also pulled out his stun baton, Xiahou fired his gun continuously, and Liu Yuning, Zhang Keying, He Xin, and I also pulled our triggers!

Amidst the gunfire and sword clashes in the center of the coliseum, many wolves were directly killed by us, their heads splitting open, dying with a whimper. But even more wolves, with a tilt of their heads, recovered and charged at us desperately!

This time, several wolves latched onto my shoulders, attempting to bite my ears. I violently shook my body, nearly flinging them to the ground. If He Xiaoyu hadn't been beside me, slicing with her sword, I might have become a one-eared man for life.

Then, I forcefully grabbed a wolf by the neck and, as if seeking revenge, threw it to the ground.

By the time I dealt with the last wolf on me, He Jinghui had already run several wolves through. In a short while, the surroundings fell silent. No more wolves appeared, only their scattered corpses on the ground.

We didn't know if Er Junchi was here, as we hadn't heard his voice. Then, there was the sound of doors opening again. This time, the coliseum released several leopards. This was no laughing matter; these wild animals were far more formidable than wolves. Even He Jinghui didn't dare to be careless. He and He Xiaoyu constantly shielded me. I thought that if they hadn't been here, we would have been in dire straits.

In a flurry of blade and sword light, many leopards hesitated to attack immediately, as some of their companions had just been taken down by us, impaled by He Jinghui's sword. The leopards seemed much smarter than the wolves. They changed their attack strategy, always approaching us from the sides when we turned, then whipping their tails.

However, such tricks were mere child's play before the two great gods, He Jinghui and He Xiaoyu. Their attack method was instantly seen through. After He Jinghui repelled a leopard with a palm strike, He Xiaoyu's fist landed on another leopard's head. Then, their two swords simultaneously pierced through the surrounding leopards.

This time, no more beasts were released from the coliseum. Instead, huge stones rolled down from the sides. He Jinghui immediately pulled the girls upwards, and they stepped onto some of the coliseum's edges. He Xiaoyu led me and Xiahou, and fortunately, Xiao Yuande leaped forcefully, also evading the falling stones. If not, he would have been crushed into a pulp.

After avoiding the attack, the bottom of the coliseum was quickly covered by murky black water. If we hadn't climbed up, we would have surely drowned below.

Having narrowly escaped danger, we made our way across the coliseum's upper seating and proceeded down a nearby corridor towards an entrance. Observing the environment, this was the only path forward.

Upon entering, we found this corridor somewhat similar to the one we had entered earlier. It seemed all the corridors in this strange house were designed this way.

But this time, along the way, we saw not eye specimens or decorations, but mostly bones tied with ropes. Some were made of what appeared to be tattered cloth, hanging on the walls like colorful ribbons. There were also many gaps, allowing a slight breeze to blow in, causing the tattered cloth to sway from side to side, resembling colorful banners stuck into the walls.

But from the tops of these banners, a liquid slowly began to drip. We looked up and realized it was blood. This place was becoming more and more problematic. Without hesitation, we pressed forward. At the end, we found a door covered with iron bars, without a fingerprint lock or any other kind of lock. We assumed a switch had to be activated to open it.

Now, we had no drone. In the previous incident, Little Doudou had been damaged, and He Xin had not repaired it yet, stating it would take some time. We stood before the iron bars and vaguely saw what looked like a lever on the wall not far away. The design of this place was peculiar; it seemed the only way to open this door was from the inside. This meant that those trapped inside had never intended to escape.

I thought Er Junchi was very likely still in the house, having merely discarded his phone somewhere outside.

Considering the angle, He Jinghui took out a blowgun and blew a dart towards the distance. I had never imagined he would use such a weapon; this was the first time. However, his movements were quite skilled, suggesting he used blowguns often.

As his dart flew out, the switch in the distance was activated, and the iron bars began to descend one by one. We seized the opportunity to try and enter, but behind us, there was a sudden, continuous rustling sound!
