"You son of a bitch, your father accidentally created you, a bastard, and your mother is a slut! Get lost, you pervert! You mongrel!"
He Xin cursed viciously, her tone so foul she seemed to have insulted Du Qitai's entire ancestry. Du Qitai was enraged.
"He Xin, you have no upbringing!"
"For a scumbag like you, a criminal, garbage, do I need to be polite? I'll curse your ancestors!" I knew He Xin was doing it on purpose.
But her cursing skill was truly masterful. Listening to her, I actually felt quite pleased. Though I couldn't see Du Qitai's expression, I could easily imagine him sputtering with rage.
Du Qitai snorted, "Since you have such a silver tongue, it's your turn to draw lots this time!"
Unexpectedly, He Xin retorted, "Screw your grandma! Get lost!"
"You, say that one more time, and I'll poison you to death!"
"You can only poison, don't you know anything else? If you have the guts, die yourself, and I'll fight you one-on-one. I'll smash your little thing like shit in a hot pot!"
*Whoosh!*
The moment He Xin finished speaking, a flying knife suddenly appeared beside her. I quickly shielded her, "Du Qitai, don't do anything rash!"
"Hmph, you know fear now, don't you? If you say one more word, the next knife will pierce your heart!" Du Qitai said menacingly.
He Xin, who was about to retort, was stopped by my stern gaze. "Calm down, we can't confront him directly now. We need to stall for time. By the way, how much time do you have left?"
"I don't want to draw, and I don't want to join those games. I need to free up some time!"
I understood. Our conversation had been quiet, so Du Qitai couldn't hear us. However, seeing us whisper, his curiosity was piqued. "What are you talking about? Can't you speak louder?"
I deliberately replied, "He Xin is feeling a bit unwell and can't participate in the drawing. How about Xia Hou takes her turn this time?"
I looked at Xia Hou, and he nodded at me. Du Qitai coughed. I heard the sound of shoes scraping on the floor and his hands clenching, likely weighing whether he could agree.
After a few minutes, he said, "Alright. He Xin, see how nice I am to you. Don't scold me like this again!"
"Okay, Uncle Du!" He Xin deliberately replied again.
"That's more like it. Alright, Xia Hou, it's your turn to draw!" Du Qitai announced. Xia Hou walked towards the lottery box, pressed the switch, and a blue glass ball landed in his hand, marked with the number 5.
Seeing the number, Du Qitai exclaimed excitedly, "Not bad, it's 5! Could this be your lucky number, Officer Xia?"
"Perhaps. Du Qitai, don't be so arrogant. I'm a bomb disposal expert. I'm not afraid of your little tricks!"
"Bomb disposal? Oh! That's interesting. You two should go to Room 5 now. Detective He, I'm sure you'll find this challenge more interesting and thrilling!"
Xia Hou looked at me, and I nodded. We didn't hesitate, but Liu Yuning, behind us, grabbed me and asked, "Why do you always have to go?"
"Du Qitai just singled me out, I can't refuse. If everyone has confidence in me, let me handle it!"
Gao Mingqiang and Xiao Yuande said, "Be careful, Consultant He. If you encounter any danger, call out immediately!"
"I'll be fine. You guys take care of everyone! Including Yuan Hezhim!" I looked at that guy, who clenched his fist at me, signaling me to try my best. I smiled and walked towards the corridor with Xia Hou.
We arrived in front of Room 5 and found it to be a circular door, also inscribed with many dense runes that I found it hard to look at. Shortly after the door opened, I heard faint beeping sounds from inside and my nose twitched, catching a whiff of sulfur.
Before we even entered, Xia Hou quickly sensed something. He opened his mouth and said, "There's a bomb inside!"
Upon hearing this, I gasped. Damn! This Du Qitai actually used a bomb.
Xia Hou, however, seemed to embrace the mission and immediately entered the room. This room was indeed a room, not very large, perhaps only about 30 square meters. On a sofa inside, there were several yellow bombs flashing with light. They displayed a time, 10 minutes, but no countdown had started yet.
There were a total of 10 bombs of various sizes placed here, appearing to be of different types: hydraulic, detonators, TNT, and so on. Of course, I couldn't name most of them. Xia Hou, the professional, looked at the bombs, and I noticed his face tighten.
"Officer Xia, aren't you skilled at bomb disposal? Then give it a try. There are 10 different types of bombs here. I'll give you 10 minutes to defuse them all, or you know the consequences, right?"
"I'm Officer Xia Hou, not Officer Xia! Du, you're quite amusing. You really want to test my skills, but you've chosen the wrong person. I'll leave you stunned!" Xia Hou said calmly and confidently. He immediately approached the first bomb. As an amateur, I could only stand beside him, wondering if I could help in any way.
Xia Hou was very fast and especially confident. He casually picked up a pair of scissors and dealt with one bomb with a *snap*. Then he moved on to another.
When he was dealing with the fifth bomb, he encountered trouble. This bomb had no wires at all, only circuit boards. Xia Hou's expression soured. Du Qitai seemed to sense something and mocked, "Haha, Officer Xia, aren't you the top bomb disposal expert? Why are you stuck on one you can't defuse? Haha! It seems you're all talk!"
Xia Hou didn't retort, silently staring at the circuit board. Suddenly, he let out a cold laugh, "Ah, so it's fake. No wonder I couldn't figure it out!"
The moment he spoke, Xia Hou raised the "bomb" in front of him. I was almost startled by him. Who knew he would whisper a few words in my ear, and I understood.
He himself smashed the circuit board. With a bang, it was as if nothing had happened. Du Qitai was furious. "How did you know it was fake?"
"This circuit board isn't from a bomb at all. If I remember correctly, it's from a television set, isn't it? Your little trick won't fool me, Du Qitai!"
"Ahaha, is that so? Take a look at the time again!"
We looked and saw that less than 2 minutes remained, yet there were still 5 bombs left to defuse!
