The City Museum
The sun blazed overhead, and a long line of people, a human dragon, thronged the entrance to the museum, a sea of faces from old to young.
Ling Feng, now in a new outfit of a white t-shirt, fruit-green shorts, and a white baseball cap, blended in with the crowd, exuding a cool and handsome vibe.
“There are so many people,” Ling Feng remarked, stretching on his tiptoes to glimpse the queue behind him, a hint of surprise in his voice.
He hadn’t expected such a turnout for an exhibition, though the free admission was likely the main draw. As the saying goes, getting something for nothing is truly appealing.
Without the free entry, the crowd would probably have been thirty percent smaller.
Not long after, Ling Feng cleared security and entered the museum. Inside, rows of uniquely shaped, diverse gemstones were on display.
Ling Feng wasn’t in a hurry, slowly searching for the display case containing the Xing Hun Shi.
“Hmm? Xiang Feng… uh, what is he doing…”
Soon, Ling Feng spotted a familiar figure – Xiang Feng, who was also there looking for the Xing Hun Shi.
Xiang Feng stood with his back to Ling Feng, pressed against the glass display case, scrutinizing something intently. He contorted his body, his backside jutting out provocatively.
Witnessing Xiang Feng’s bizarre posture, bystanders couldn't help but twitch their lips, feeling a pang of awkwardness.
This young man… seems to have a serious problem.
I don’t know him, I don’t know him… Ling Feng lowered his cap and turned away, though he silently noted Xiang Feng’s current location.
“Now then…”
Before he could finish, the ground began to shake violently. Ling Feng looked up, his expression calm, as if he had expected this.
“Earthquake! Earthquake!”
“Run! It’s an earthquake!”
Ling Feng was unfazed, but the visitors around him were not. In their minds, this was an earthquake, and earthquakes were deadly!
Instantly, fear and panic engulfed the museum. The crowd erupted into chaos, everyone scrambling towards the exits in terror.
Explosions could be heard outside. Lie Kong Yan must have engaged the enemy. It was time… Ling Feng scanned his surroundings, spotted a restroom in a corner, and sprinted towards it.
Inside the restroom, a flash of red light, and a transformed Ling Feng emerged, surveying the area. He didn’t see Xiang Feng.
But judging by the cacophony, the tourists must have been held up by Xiang Feng at the entrance.
A golden opportunity!
Ling Feng raced towards the Xing Hun Shi exhibition hall without hesitation.
He arrived at the glass display case for the Xing Hun Shi, pondered for a moment, and then declared gravely,
“My apologies!”
With that, he delivered a powerful straight punch to the glass display case.
*Bang!*
The sound echoed, followed by a sudden silence. After a moment, Ling Feng calmly retracted his fist, placed it behind his back, and chuckled approvingly.
“As expected of domestically produced glass, it’s truly tough, though…”
A bit too tough. His fist ached from the impact. Ling Feng subtly rubbed his hand against his clothes to alleviate the pain, while the glass display case remained completely unscathed.
The display case: That’s all? o(´^`)o
“In that case, let’s try this.”
Ling Feng smiled faintly, and a sky-blue broadsword suddenly materialized in his hand. Its blade, made of blue diamond, shimmered with a majestic radiance – the Zhan Shen Zhi Ren.
“If fists can’t break it, then one must appropriately use tools, right…”
The display case: Seriously, are you cheating? My apologies, sir, I was just kidding. I admit I was a bit arrogant just now, it’s just that…
*Swish!*
*Bang!*
With a single strike, in no time, the glass display case shattered into pieces on the floor.
Ling Feng calmly sheathed the Zhan Shen Zhi Ren, picked up the Xing Hun Shi, and a moment later, a system notification chimed in his mind.
[Ding! The second Xing Hun Shi illustration has been recorded!]
Done!
*Tap, tap, tap…*
The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the cavernous hall, approaching from a distance.
Ling Feng turned around and, as expected, Xiang Feng soon appeared at the entrance of the exhibition hall.
Xiang Feng paused when he saw someone still in the exhibition hall. He was about to warn the person to seek shelter in the warehouse, but his steps faltered when he saw Ling Feng’s battle suit. He blinked, looking bewildered.
“Who are you? Could you be the partner of another Xing Hun warrior?”
“Boom!”
As Xiang Feng spoke, the eastern door was suddenly blasted open, and over a dozen individuals in green combat uniforms, armed with unknown firearms, entered.
Among them was a yellow-haired man, their commander, Dana.
“Only two Blue Star monkeys left? The rest have escaped. Well, that saves us some effort.”
“Go, eliminate them.”
*Zzzzzzt!*
Instantly, a dozen lasers shot towards Ling Feng and Xiang Feng.
“Aliens?” Xiang Feng exclaimed, dodging the lasers in a panic. Ling Feng, too, dodged, but with a calmer expression.
A few seconds later, whether it was due to the soldiers' poor aim or the duo’s incredible luck, not a single laser hit them.
Dana, seeing that his soldiers had failed to subdue the two Blue Star monkeys, grew impatient and reprimanded them.
“What are you doing? Why haven’t you dealt with them yet? How did you even learn to shoot!”
“It seems your training has been lax lately. Today, after returning, your team’s training will be doubled!”
The alien soldiers were thoroughly berated, heads bowed in silence.
“Here, catch.”
“Ah.”
Xiang Feng was stunned, and then saw Ling Feng toss something towards him. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the Xing Hun Shi and quickly caught it.
This left Xiang Feng baffled. Why wasn’t the other person using it?
Dana, seeing this, was enraged.
“Damn it, are you treating us as air! All of you, attack! Capture them!”
“Split up and run!”
As the words left his mouth, Ling Feng and Xiang Feng bolted out of the exhibition hall like leopards, each heading in a different direction.
“Damn it, split into three teams! One team stays here, the other two groups, capture them.”
“Yes!”
In the corridor leading to the warehouse, Ling Feng moved with incredible agility, his footwork as elusive and unpredictable as a phantom.
The pursuers behind him were dumbfounded. Was this even human?
Suddenly, Ling Feng sharply changed direction, lunging towards them like a leopard. They faltered in surprise, then raised their weapons and unleashed a barrage of fire at Ling Feng.
Unfortunately, it was useless.
Once Ling Feng plunged into their midst, he was like a wolf in a flock of sheep. His gaze was sharp, his attacks ruthless, and he dispatched the soldiers in a flash.
Ling Feng glanced at the pile of bodies at his feet, his eyes cold as he clapped his hands. “Kung fu is a killing art.”
After dealing with the pursuers, Ling Feng turned and ran towards the warehouse. He had actually chosen this route for a reason.
Upon entering the museum, he had deliberately looked at the museum map on the wall and memorized the location of the warehouse.
He recalled that Xiang Feng had led the exhibition attendees there for safety, and the subsequent battle would be intense enough to cause the entire museum to collapse. His current objective was to rescue everyone before the museum crumbled. No one could guarantee that the plot would unfold as it did in his memory.
Inside the warehouse, the ceiling lights flickered, seeming on the verge of extinguishing at any moment. The dim environment was filled with a heavy silence, an oppressive atmosphere of unease.
A young man in a white t-shirt, shielding two children, a boy and a girl, noticed that the tremors had ceased for some time. He spoke slowly, “It seems quiet outside now.”
A school-uniformed girl tentatively guessed, “They’ve been fighting for so long, it should have stopped by now.”
“There’s no cell signal here, so we have no idea what’s happening outside.”
“Let’s go out and see.”
Someone stood up and went to the door, turning the handle to check the situation outside. However, the handle turned, but no matter how they pushed or pulled, the warehouse door wouldn’t open.
“That’s strange, why won’t it open.”
“Could something be blocking it from the outside?”
“Don’t be ridiculous.”
“This is bad.”
The crowd murmured their guesses. Suddenly, the ground shook violently again. The lights flickered twice and went out, and the emergency lights immediately came on.
The little girl cried out in fear, and the other little boy quickly comforted her.
Everyone else was flustered and discussing anxiously.
“Is anyone in there?”
Suddenly, a knocking sound and a voice from the door made everyone freeze, then their faces lit up with joy. The voice was like a lifeline.
“Yes!”
“That’s good. Stay away from the door. I’ll move these boxes, and then I’ll rescue you.”
Soon, the sound of things being moved could be heard from outside. The crowd obediently moved away from the door, and in a short while, the door creaked open, revealing a figure.
“Are you all right?”
Ling Feng scanned the area, counting the number of people while asking.
“Are you that young man’s companion?” a girl with glasses asked, noticing Ling Feng’s battle suit.
“Sort of,” Ling Feng replied vaguely, opening another door.
“Then where is he?”
“He went to lure away the aliens. Don’t worry, he’s a tough one.”
On the street outside the city.
Xiang Feng fled in a disheveled state, pursued by two alien mechs.
“Help! You’re cheating!”
*Zzzzzzt!* He was met with a continuous barrage of lasers. Dodging the gunfire, Xiang Feng continued his escape.
“Damn it, if you have guts, don’t fly!”
Xiang Feng ran faster and faster, his speed creating a red streak behind him as he dashed down the street.
Suddenly, a shadow loomed over him. He looked up to see a vehicle.
After running for so long, even with the enhancements from his battle suit, his stamina was almost depleted.
Xiang Feng gritted his teeth, resolutely raised the Xing Hun Shi, which now emanated a dazzling golden light.
*Whoosh!*
A beam of light shot from the Xing Hun Shi, striking the police car that was about to land. The car was immediately bathed in a golden glow, its body seemingly renewed.
Then, with a series of clicks and clacks, after landing, the police car transformed into a robot.
*Zzzzzzt.*
As Tian Qu Lei finished transforming, several lasers shot towards him.
Tian Qu Lei’s blue eyes flickered slightly. The next moment, a blue sniper rifle appeared in his hand, and he fired a shot at the lasers in the sky.
*Boom!*
Amidst a blinding flash of fire, two blue laser beams pierced through the dense black smoke, precisely hitting the two alien mechs, turning them into fireworks.
“Your name is…” Xiang Feng looked up at Tian Qu Lei.
“My name is Tian Qu Lei. I am the Xing Hun warrior summoned by Master,” Tian Qu Lei introduced himself.
“Tian Qu Lei, I understand. But now is not the time for idle chat. We have a companion to rescue.”
“Companion… That’s important. We need to hurry. Where is he?”
“At the exhibition hall. His name is Lie Kong Yan.”
“Understood. We’re on our way.”
Tian Qu Lei transformed back into a police car, picking up Xiang Feng, and they sped towards the City Museum.
………………
The City Museum was engulfed in smoke and flames. Lie Kong Yan, covered in wounds, half-crouched on the ground, his Yan Lie Jian in hand, crackling with electricity. He was severely injured and struggled even to stand.
“I haven’t lost yet.”
“I’d like to see how much longer you can be stubborn. Now, for the finishing blow, I’ll take you down.” Achilles chuckled, and his Hell Fortress began to accumulate energy.
Just then, a blue laser beam shot from afar, hitting the Hell Fortress and interrupting its energy buildup.
“What? Who dares!”
Achilles followed the direction of the attack and saw a blue robot standing on top of a nearby building. He frowned, “How is there another Xing Hun warrior?”
*Boom!*
As soon as he spoke, the massive Hell Fortress was sent flying by a colossal force.
Achilles looked up in bewilderment. A blue train appeared in his line of sight, and then transformed into a robot, leaving him completely stunned.
“What the hell? Where did another one come from?”
