Mie felt a slight burning sensation on his cheeks. He reached out and touched them, then looked at the crimson liquid on his fingertips. A faint smile split his lips, and he tilted his head, a terrifyingly charming grin appearing, one that would instill fear in any observer.
"Excellent! Excellent!!! To think I could be injured."
"Then – as a return favor, let me hear your heart-wrenching screams!"
Mie turned and walked step by step towards the obsidian tank.
"This is bad, stop him!" Old He exclaimed. The three of them simultaneously raised their guns. Leng Feng drew his Desert Eagle Shura and continuously pulled the trigger, unleashing three streams of fire!
Dozens of bullets swept towards Mie like a metal storm.
*Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!*
The bullets pierced through Mie's body. More and more blood wounds appeared on him. With every step, he left behind a bloody imprint. Yet, Mie seemed unaffected, as if oblivious to it all, continuing his advance towards the tank.
Shrugging off the barrage, Mie walked directly through the tank's steel plating and entered its interior. The dark tank began to shake violently, then, as if plastered with a decal, a pair of bloody holes and a row of sharp teeth resembling a shark's appeared on its exterior below the cannon.
"What is this?" Old He and Leng Feng stared, bewildered, at the transforming black tank.
"Not good! Run!" Ling Feng, witnessing this, felt that familiar alarm that had saved him numerous times ring out again. He quickly grabbed Leng Feng and Old He, and they fled towards the cluster of buildings. This chaotic creature's abilities were terrifying.
If his guess was correct, this chaotic creature could possess other beings, which made its abilities extremely formidable.
"Boom!"
"Boo
The berserk chaotic creature unleashed a barrage of cannon fire. However, the cannon couldn't sustain continuous firing and required a cooldown period. This was when Ling Feng would counterattack.
But soon, Ling Feng reached the end of the road. Seeing that Ling Feng had no escape, Mie let out a terrifying, ethereal laugh and fired a charged shot.
"Bring it on!"
Facing the approaching shell, Ling Feng took a deep breath, his gaze firm. With a void grasp, he summoned the Heaven-Piercer.
"Boo
As for why he vanished, it was naturally due to a temporary invisibility talisman spell. Shield talismans couldn't withstand concentrated artillery fire.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!"
Ling Feng looked up. Over a dozen missiles tore through the sky towards the factory. The joy on Ling Feng's face vanished instantly.
"Damn it! They're targeting a disabled tank!"
Ling Feng immediately ran towards a nearby building. Just as the missiles struck, he managed to roll inside.
Rumble!
The sound of missile explosions echoed throughout the factory, like a symphony orchestra playing, continuously reaping the lives of the rebel soldiers.
When the explosions outside finally ceased, Ling Feng emerged from the unfinished building. He shook his head, looking at the ravaged surroundings, and drew his pistol, the Wusheng, heading towards the old factory to ensure no rebel soldiers remained.
Five minutes later, the rebel forces were completely annihilated. Ling Feng and the other survivors boarded vehicles and headed towards the peacekeeping forces' temporary encampment.
As per the original narrative, the helicopter was also destroyed by the rebel forces.
On the way through a combat zone, Leng Feng, who had been unconscious from blood loss, woke up. Just as before, with the display of a national flag, the convoy safely navigated the combat zone and arrived at their destination.
Upon disembarking, Leng Feng approached Ling Feng.
"Are you alright?" Leng Feng scanned Ling Feng from head to toe.
"I'm fine. It's you who has so many new wounds and has lost quite a bit of blood."
Leng Feng remained silent, only offering a smile.
Looking at Leng Feng, Ling Feng spoke again, "You've met that person, haven't you?"
"Yes, I got my revenge."
"Revenge? What revenge did you get?" Ling Feng's lips curled, wanting to tease Leng Feng.
"Her revenge." Leng Feng, oblivious to Ling Feng's teasing, remained serious. Seeing this, Ling Feng decided to cut to the chase. With the main mission completed, he had only three minutes left.
He moved to Leng Feng's side and lowered his voice, "I need to fulfill my promise. I'll tell you something very important to you: Long Xiaoyun isn't actually dead."
"What?!" Leng Feng's pupils contracted sharply. He looked at Ling Feng, now truly convinced that Ling Feng possessed special abilities. If he said so, then...
Before Leng Feng could ask for Long Xiaoyun's location, Ling Feng reached out and patted his shoulder, saying, "In the future, your superior will tell you where she is. Be prepared."
With that, Ling Feng turned and walked towards the restrooms, waving as he went, "Goodbye."
Watching Ling Feng's retreating back, Leng Feng had a premonition that he would never see Ling Feng again.
