The song ended, and Ling Feng remained lost in thought, as did everyone around him.
"Clap, clap, clap..."
It wasn't until someone snapped back to reality and began to applaud that the others gradually came to their senses and joined in, including Ling Feng.
One had to admit, Yun Jin's opera was, in a word, superb.
It was incredibly immersive, and that background music...
"This concludes the performance of 'The Emperor's Expedition.' Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend." Yun Jin bowed slightly to the audience below and headed backstage.
"Mr. Yun, wait! I want to ask..." A group of people, resembling reporters, tried to rush onto the stage to follow Yun Jin, but were blocked by the strong bodyguards hired by the opera troupe.
"Alright, Ling Feng, Shenhe, let's go," Yan Fei said, standing up. Yun Jin usually only sang one song, so there was no point in staying any longer.
"Mhm," Ling Feng nodded.
The three of them squeezed their way through the crowd for a while before finally emerging. There were simply too many people; they couldn't have gotten out without pushing.
On the main street of Feiyun Slope, Ling Feng let out a sigh of relief. It had been incredibly difficult to push through the crowd just now; there were far too many people.
"How did you feel?" Yan Fei asked with a smile.
"Mhm, very good," Ling Feng replied.
"So this is opera. We don't have this in the mountains. To learn about people's deeds without meeting them in person, I like this form very much," Shenhe said after some thought.
"As long as you two like it. Mr. Yun's real name is Yun Jin, a renowned opera artist in Liyue. Though she looks young, her skills are profound."
"Right, where are we going next?" Ling Feng looked up at the sky. It had completely darkened, and the streets were brightly lit, giving off a night market vibe.
"Hmm, let's head to the harbor. Generally, there are more activities at the harbor in the evening. It's getting late, so afterward, we can go to Jade Chamber to ask Grandma Yu about your accommodation for the night."
Feiyun Slope is a commercial district, primarily focused on business, with few special events. The harbor, on the other hand, is vast and has many interesting things.
"Mhm, let's go."
Ling Feng nodded. After all, it was his first time in Liyue Harbor. He had no idea where there were places to sightsee. In the game, apart from festival events, there were rarely any entertainment options, especially in Liyue.
Yan Fei, having lived here her whole life, would surely know more than him. Following her was definitely the right choice.
Shenhe, as always, walked silently beside them. However, after listening to Yun Jin's opera, she seemed to be contemplating something.
Upon reaching the harbor, the three of them wandered around.
Guessing riddles: Ling Feng couldn't guess many because the world was different, and some things were unfamiliar. But he still had fun.
Shadow puppetry: Unlike the famous "Wu Song Fights the Tiger" in China, here the popular story was about the Geo Archon going to war. Watching the black shadows on the screen, depicting one person fighting a group, was quite entertaining. As for whether the story was true or not, no one knew.
It was similar to what Yun Jin sang in her opera.
After watching the shadow puppetry, Ling Feng and the other two didn't linger at the harbor any longer. It was getting late. Ling Feng and Shenhe followed Yan Fei to Jade Chamber.
At Jade Chamber, Grandma Yu was looking up at the moon.
"Grandma, we're back."
Hearing Yan Fei's call, Grandma Yu smiled and looked in the direction of the voice. She saw Yan Fei hopping merrily towards her.
"Mhm, judging by your expressions, you had a very happy day today," Grandma Yu said with a smile.
"No, I'm so tired."
Ling Feng collapsed onto the ground, looking drained, and complained.
He initially thought Jade Chamber wouldn't be far, but he didn't expect the walk from the harbor to Jade Chamber to take a full half-hour, especially with so many stairs.
In reality, walking for half an hour wouldn't be that tiring, but he was dragged along by Yan Fei. He had no idea where Yan Fei got her energy from; she had to peek into every shop they passed.
It reminded Ling Feng of when he used to go shopping with his mother. They would agree to go home, but on the way, she would want to stop by other stores, which he found incredibly frustrating.
Ling Feng glanced at Shenhe, who stood calmly beside him. He wondered how good Shenhe's and Yan Fei's stamina truly was, as they didn't seem tired at all.
"Sigh, I'm done for," Ling Feng sighed.
"Since you're tired, let's go rest. It's getting late," Grandma Yu said.
"Oh right, Master, where are we sleeping tonight?"
"Follow me. I still have spare beds at my place."
"Then, Grandma, I'll be heading back now. I have work to do tomorrow." Yan Fei said.
"Mhm, be careful on your way."
"Okay."
After receiving Grandma Yu's response, Yan Fei said goodbye to Ling Feng and Shenhe and then skipped away, still full of energy, showing no signs of fatigue from their outing.
But then again, it made sense. Although Yan Fei was a half-immortal, her physique far surpassed that of ordinary humans. A bit of shopping might have been negligible for her.
After Yan Fei left, Ling Feng and Shenhe followed Grandma Yu to her house in Liyue.
Unlike in the game, Grandma Yu did not live in the Serenitea Pot but had a house.
Ling Feng, as usual, liked to look around whenever he arrived at a new place.
One had to admit, Grandma Yu's house was truly large, even having a second floor, and it was slightly bigger than Ling Feng's old home. He felt envious.
Since it was very late, they didn't chat much. After a simple wash, they all went to rest.
Exhausted from the day, Ling Feng fell asleep almost immediately. This time, Shenhe's presence beside him didn't bother him at all, perhaps because he had gotten used to it.
After all, Shenhe had been by his side every night for the past few days, including during sleep. Anyone would get used to it.
The next morning, Ling Feng was woken up by Shenhe. At first, Ling Feng wanted to roll over and sleep a little longer, but then he remembered he hadn't cultivated for four days and thought about how tired he was just from yesterday's outing.
Ling Feng got out of bed, washed up, and planned to cultivate. He checked the time and realized it was still early, only six in the morning, so he immediately lost the urge to cultivate.
Remembering that he was returning to Mt. Aocang today and still had the jade pendant that Ganyu had given him yesterday, he decided to return it to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
It was better for Ganyu to keep her own belongings. His strength was too weak, and if this jade pendant had other uses, it would become much more troublesome.
Initially, Shenhe, under the pretense of protection, wanted to accompany him, but Ling Feng refused, saying it was nearby.
It wasn't that Ling Feng disliked Shenhe, but rather that her aura was too attention-grabbing. Yesterday, while shopping, many people had stared at him, making him so awkward he could have dug a three-room apartment with his toes.
He didn't want to be stared at by so many people just to return a jade pendant. The feeling was simply too terrifying.
