Chapter 21 The Choice

"It's fine."

Ling Feng said, his face pale and extremely weak. He then retrieved a Reviving Pill from his system space, gritted his teeth, endured the intense pain from his body, and swallowed the pill.

The pill melted in his mouth, and a warm current nourished Ling Feng's cells. Every cell seemed to cheer and leap, as if a great rain had fallen in the desert.

Ling Feng felt the pain throughout his body begin to subside, and his rapid breathing gradually smoothed out. However, it was obviously impossible for such severe injuries to heal instantaneously.

After returning the Xian Li Long Yin to his system space, Ling Feng bent his legs and sat cross-legged. He circulated the Yuan Ling Jue to recover his true qi, all while waiting for the Reviving Pill's medicinal effects to mend his injuries.

Seeing this, Tu Shan Rong Rong wisely did not disturb Ling Feng and instead retreated to Tu Shan Hong Hong's side.

"Sister, what's this human big brother's name?" Tu Shan Rong Rong turned to Tu Shan Hong Hong and asked with great curiosity.

"His name is Ling Feng." Tu Shan Hong Hong stated Ling Feng's name. After all, Ling Feng had saved them, so she had remembered his name when he mentioned it.

"Ling Feng, what a nice name." Tu Shan Rong Rong silently noted Ling Feng's name and then continued to ask curiously, "Sister, how did you meet Big Brother Ling Feng?"

Tu Shan Hong Hong had no intention of hiding anything from Tu Shan Rong Rong. Tu Shan Rong Rong was the person closest to her, so there was no harm in telling her.

"He's not from our world."

"What?"

Tu Shan Rong Rong didn't quite understand Tu Shan Hong Hong's meaning. She was still young, and although she loved to read, Tu Shan Hong Hong's statement was beyond her comprehension.

"Ling Feng is not a human from our world. He comes from another world," Tu Shan Hong Hong explained in detail.

"Another world?" Tu Shan Rong Rong was stunned. She looked back at Ling Feng's retreating figure, her eyes filled with curiosity and a hint of gossip as she asked, "Then, Sister, how exactly did you meet him?"

"According to him, I was summoned by him, and then..."

Tu Shan Hong Hong began to briefly recount her experiences and her thoughts, but her voice was very low, barely audible to anyone but themselves.

As Tu Shan Rong Rong listened, her expression kept changing, showing surprise, curiosity, confusion, and more. She looked at Ling Feng's back, filled with curiosity about the unknown.

Ling Feng, unaware of their discussion about him, was concentrating on his recovery.

Two minutes later~

Ling Feng slowly opened his eyes, exhaling a breath of stale air that dissipated into the air.

"The medicinal effects of the Reviving Pill have been largely absorbed. My internal injuries are almost healed, and my external wounds have scabbed over. It truly lives up to its reputation as a three-star pill."

Ling Feng looked at his arm, where the sword wounds had already scabbed over.

An ordinary person seeing this might be frightened. Ling Feng had quite a few scars, which were quite shocking to behold.

"My cultivation has also improved, bringing me one step closer to Qi Refining Stage Two." Ling Feng felt a slight increase in his cultivation and was in a good mood. "No wonder novels say that if you encounter a bottleneck, going out for some experience might help you break through. So that's how it works."

"The rapid consumption of true qi, coupled with the intense battle activating cell vitality, made my dantian even more eager for the spiritual energy of heaven and earth."

"It's like a hungry person wanting to eat. The dantian absorbs the spiritual energy of heaven and earth at two to three times the normal speed to replenish itself. With the aid of the Yuan Ling Jue and the Reviving Pill, the speed of true qi recovery is frighteningly fast."

"Ah, comfortable."

Ling Feng got up from the ground and stretched his limbs. His bones creaked with every movement, but Ling Feng felt no pain; instead, it was extremely comfortable.

"Hmm?"

Ling Feng felt his sleeve being gently tugged. He turned his head curiously and saw Tu Shan Rong Rong pulling at it.

"Big Brother Ling Feng, are you alright? I'm so sorry just now, I accidentally touched your wound."

Seeing Ling Feng turn his head, Tu Shan Rong Rong lowered her head, twirling her index fingers in front of her chest.

"It's fine, just a minor injury, nothing serious."

Ling Feng gently placed one hand on Tu Shan Rong Rong's head and petted it. With his other hand, he clenched his fist and thumped his chest, as if to prove how strong his body was.

From Ling Feng's blind spot, Tu Shan Rong Rong's lips curved upwards slightly, revealing a mischievous smile.

"Brother Ling Feng, does it feel good?"

"It's alright."

"Brother Ling Feng, don't you know that girls' hair shouldn't be touched so casually? It's quite impolite." Tu Shan Rong Rong's tone seemed to carry a hint of displeasure.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why it was such an instinctive reaction."

Ling Feng was taken aback. He only then realized how he had instinctively reached out and touched her hair. He quickly retracted his hand in alarm.

"It's okay, I don't really mind."

Tu Shan Rong Rong looked up, a smile on her face.

Ling Feng looked at Tu Shan Rong Rong's squinting eyes and her sly smile, his mouth twitching slightly.

He knew then that he had been teased by Tu Shan Rong Rong.

"As expected of Tu Shan Rong Rong, that dark-bellied trait is so familiar. One can easily fall into her trap."

In the anime, Tu Shan Rong Rong's dark-bellied nature had given Bai Yu-Chao and the others a headache. He hadn't expected to be on the receiving end now.

"Right, Brother Ling Feng, what about that human?"

Tu Shan Rong Rong pointed to a figure lying on the ground behind Tu Shan Hong Hong.

"You caught him?"

Ling Feng followed the direction of Tu Shan Rong Rong's finger.

He saw the young Taoist Mo Xiaofan, tied up with ropes and discarded on the ground, his face filled with terror. His mouth was gagged with cloth, rendering him unable to utter a sound.

"He tried to escape because he's in cahoots with that stinky Taoist, so Sister took action and captured him," Tu Shan Rong Rong explained. "Brother Ling Feng, you know that we Tu Shan fox demons don't kill people, so we've decided to let you handle him."

Mo Xiaofan seemed to hear Ling Feng and Tu Shan Rong Rong's conversation. His expression became even more terrified, and he struggled forcefully. However, bound by ropes, it was impossible to break free easily.

After several failed attempts, Mo Xiaofan wriggled like a caterpillar, trying to escape, but soon tired himself out.

Mo Xiaofan was an ordinary person and not much older, about fifteen or sixteen, similar to Ling Feng. His lack of stamina was normal. And trying to escape from under the nose of Tu Shan Hong Hong, a demon king?

He was probably still dreaming in broad daylight.
