Chapter 629 Text on Paper

This was a very ordinary piece of paper, though it must have been very old.

The paper was extremely rough, not at all comparable to the A4 paper used in modern society.

However, I didn't care what material this thing was made of; I cared about what was written on it!

Opening it, I saw a lot of messy writing that I didn't recognize at all.

Furthermore, it was scribbled over and modified in many places.

"What is this?" I asked.

"Russian," Lin Chun replied.

"Russian? That's it... I don't know any," I said, shaking my head in resignation.

"I know a little..." Lin Chun said with a smile.

"Hmm?" I looked at Lin Chun, somewhat surprised. "When did you learn this skill?"

"I've been a mercenary and traveled to many places, including Russia, of course," Lin Chun said with a smile. "Don't let my profession fool you; I was quite the scholar back in the day. To adapt better to the local environment, I taught myself some Russian..."

"So, do you recognize any of this?" I quickly asked.

"It's written very hastily... but I can make out some of it," Lin Chun said. He carefully placed the paper on the glass and pointed to the lines of text, murmuring as he read.

"Today should be a success. I have a premonition. May Jesus bless us!"

"The data is correct. Even with so many sacrifices, success is worth it!"

"This is definitely not a monster; it is the future of humanity!"

"I am incredibly close to the truth of the world. Humanity must evolve to higher dimensions..."

"Jesus, bless me!"

"If this fails, we'll have to try that other method..."

Lin Chun read each line, and I frowned as I listened.

From these entries, not a single piece of useful information could be gleaned.

Instead, it sounded like someone praying or writing a letter to themselves.

It was certain that these monsters were created by them.

However, there was not a single clue regarding the method of creation or the conditions required.

"It doesn't seem to be anything useful..." Lin Chun sighed.

"Keep this one safe..." I said calmly.

Then, we searched the room thoroughly but found nothing else.

The two of us turned to leave.

There was another door on the other side.

Pushing it open, we found that things inside seemed rather unusual.

Within this room were numerous compartments, with doors that appeared to be made of metal bars.

This place felt like a prison to me.

Inside each compartment was a small bed, about a meter wide, which occupied most of the space.

"Is this a place to hold prisoners?" Lin Chun asked, a little confused.

"What kind of prisoners would be here..." I replied helplessly. As I spoke, I casually dismantled a metal bar.

This thing must have been here for a very long time; with almost no effort, the bar came loose.

The floor of the compartments was very dirty, whether it was dust that had fallen later or if it had been there from the beginning.

However, it was all just trash, with nothing that contained any recorded information.

All the compartments were the same, with no changes.

"Did this place need to hold prisoners?" Lin Chun was still confused.

"I don't know. Perhaps it was for holding something else..." I said.

This was a mysterious place, exuding an eerie aura.

However, it was largely certain that this place was specifically used to create these monsters.

It was just unclear what happened afterward that left the monsters here.

And they had been stored for so long.

I wondered by what means those monsters could have survived until now.

Yet, I felt a growing sense of unease.

That giant glass tank must have contained something terrifying.

But after inspecting so many rooms, we hadn't found any remains...

This suggested that the monster had likely escaped.

The combat power of this monster was probably at an astonishing level.

The most critical issue was that we had no idea where this creature had gone.

If we happened to encounter it, it would be no good for us.

If this thing decided to attack our city, I doubted any of us would survive.

Thinking of this, my mood grew heavy.

Lin Chun smiled. "Don't dwell on things you can't figure out. Let's eat something first..."

As he spoke, he took out some meat from his backpack.

"Let's start a fire..." Lin Chun said with a smile, looking around. He couldn't find any wood.

Then, his gaze settled on the wooden bed in the compartment.

Lin Chun walked over and, with a kick, dismantled the wooden bed. He then carried the wood outside and placed it on the ground.

As he went back to fetch more wood for the second time, he suddenly froze. "Lu Ge, come here quickly!"
