Chapter 95 Unknown Fear

I was somewhat amused and at a loss for words by Zhuoya’s display. I blocked her outstretched hand and said helplessly, "I didn't mean it like that… Forget it, forget it. Hurry up and change your clothes. I'll stand by the door for a while."

With that, I turned around and stood at the entrance, gazing at the distant scenery.

Although my eyes were on the beautiful scenery outside, my attention was drawn to the sparse sounds of undressing inside the cave.

Sometimes, when there are no visuals, the sounds can ignite the imagination even more.

Images of Zhuoya changing her clothes involuntarily flashed through my mind.

The blood-stained bustier was unfastened by Zhuoya with a flick of her wrist and thrown to the ground. Her slender waist was completely exposed to the air.

The small leather skirt, adorned with stripes and appearing quite wild, slid down her shapely legs, making one want to reach out and feel if it was as smooth as it looked…

Damn it!

As these images crossed my mind, I quickly chanted "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form" several times.

Zhuoya was so defenseless against me. If I were to take advantage of her, I would be worse than the savages of the Kasa tribe.

After a long while, Zhuoya called me from behind, and only then did I walk back into the cave.

At this point, Zhuoya had changed into a set of clothes and looked exceptionally refreshed. She was sitting by the campfire, preparing soup. Seeing me walk in, she pointed to a box inside the cave.

"Little Wild Brother, you should change your clothes quickly too. This box contains clothes my father left behind, all washed. After you change, dinner will be almost ready."

I opened the box and changed into a decent-looking set of animal hides.

It wasn't the first time I had changed clothes in front of a woman. If it were any of those other women, I wouldn't have been so reserved.

But in front of such a pure young girl like Zhuoya, I, uncharacteristically, retained a shred of dignity.

I covered myself slightly.

After I finished changing and sat with Zhuoya by the campfire, we enjoyed a delicious meal. By then, the sky outside had completely darkened.

After eating, I felt every cell in my body calling out with exhaustion. I bid Zhuoya goodnight and lay down on the animal hides, falling into a deep sleep.

When I woke up again, the sky outside was already bright, and a thin layer of mist hung in the air.

My heart leaped with joy.

This weather was truly a gift from heaven!

With the mist as cover, the success rate of attacking the Kasa tribe today would increase by at least ten percent!

A day of light fog is the perfect time for killing!

Zhuoya had also woken up. We ate a quick meal.

After checking our weapons and ammunition, we climbed back up the ladder to the mountaintop and headed towards the Kasa tribe's encampment.

After descending the mountain, I cautiously moved through the jungle, mentally weighing various factors.

While the thin mist in the mountains today could conceal our figures and make it harder for the Kasa people to detect us, it also limited our precision.

It made accurate shooting particularly difficult.

Fortunately, the Kasa people were all tall and burly, making them conspicuous targets.

As long as we hit them, it would create gaping wounds.

Even if they didn't die, they would be crippled and become a burden to their tribe!

Eventually, they would be abandoned.

However, after what happened yesterday, the Kasa tribe would undoubtedly send out patrols to search for our tracks in the vicinity. We had to be extremely careful as we moved through the jungle.

Otherwise, if we encountered even one patrol, it would alert them and we would walk right into the Kasa tribe's trap.

Just as I was lost in thought, Zhuoya suddenly stopped and grabbed me, looking around with great vigilance.

Zhuoya's action instantly put me on alert. I meticulously scanned the surrounding jungle for anything out of the ordinary.

Something's wrong!

The jungle was far too quiet; not even a bird was chirping!

Zhuoya and I didn't have time to say anything. We immediately darted under a large, leafy tree and observed in silence.

The jungle grew quieter, but this silence was like the calm before a storm, making us increasingly uneasy.

I swallowed hard with a solemn expression, my ears twitching as I peered into the depths of the jungle. Something was approaching us, getting closer and closer!

Unbeknownst to us, a faint scent of blood began to permeate the air.

My highly-strung senses immediately picked it up.

What was approaching us?

Could it be a jungle overlord, like the giant monstrous birds that attacked us during the storm?

I tightly gripped the rifle in my hand and exchanged a look with Zhuoya.

This gun in my hand was my confidence, the foundation of my ability to survive on this nameless island.

No matter what ferocious beast came, under the product of modern human ingenuity, it would be annihilated!

Closer, even closer!

Let me see what creature is lurking!

A pair of sinewy hands roughly parted the undergrowth under my gaze. The unknown creature was finally revealed before my eyes.

Damn, what kind of monster is that!

Even though I had braced myself mentally, my heart was filled with shock.
