Chapter 107 Flock of Firebirds

Zhuo Ya was dismissive, perhaps not understanding what I was doing in her eyes. She laughed, covering my face with her hand and pulling back.

"Little Ye brother, stop fooling around! Your beard tickles me so much!"

Hearing Zhuo Ya's words, my mind, clouded by desire, suddenly cleared.

Zhuo Ya was a companion who had shared life and death with me during this time, and she was extremely naive about matters between men and women. It truly made me feel guilty to have acted this way towards her.

"Uh, Zhuo Ya, I'm sorry, I just woke up and my mind was a bit fuzzy." Kuai Shu Ge

I shook my head vigorously, finally bringing my senses fully back to normal.

Outside, it had started to rain at some point.

The rain was fierce, pattering down on the ground.

Zhuo Ya didn't blame me. Instead, she cut a piece of meat from the goat roasting and dripping oil and handed it to me.

With a smile, she said, "Little Ye brother, you've been sleeping for half a day, you must be starving. Come, taste my cooking."

The unique aroma of lamb wafted towards me, making my nose twitch. I eagerly put the lamb into my mouth, and the taste was incredible.

It was absolutely delicious!

The temperature was just right, warm but not scalding. The meat was tender and delicate, melting in the mouth without being greasy.

There were also some small flecks of something on it, and I didn't know where Zhuo Ya got the seasoning from. It was a bit spicy, but it brought out the aroma of the lamb perfectly!

In the blink of an eye, the entire piece of lamb was gone.

Seeing me devour the meat, Zhuo Ya detached an entire leg of the lamb and handed it to me. She then used a small knife to cut off pieces of lamb for herself and ate them slowly.

Outside, the rain was relentless, but inside the cave, Zhuo Ya and I enjoyed our meal.

If only we had some wine to go with it, it would have been perfect.

This atmosphere made me feel especially content: good food, a beautiful woman, and a night of rain...

Just a few months ago, I was working overtime like crazy at the company. I never imagined I would one day be living such a life.

The entire roasted lamb was finished by Zhuo Ya and me in no time.

Listening to the rain outside the cave, Zhuo Ya and I bid each other goodnight and went to rest.

If every day could be as wonderful as today, I would be willing to spend the rest of my life on this nameless island living this kind of life.

But these were just my wishful thoughts. I drifted off to sleep, but some things always change without us realizing it...

The next morning, when I woke up, the rain outside had completely stopped.

Only the dew remaining on the leaves proved that it had rained last night.

Zhuo Ya and I tidied up our things, ate some cassava, and continued our ascent towards the mountain peak.

By noon, we reached the summit.

Wow, the scenery before me gave me an urge to shout out.

Continuous mountain ranges covered with primeval forests, a magnificent scene that is rarely seen in modern society.

At this moment, I finally understood what the ancient poets meant by "To stand on the highest peak, and all other mountains look small."

I had been in the forest before, and I had never experienced this.

Zhuo Ya, however, seemed accustomed to the sight. With a solemn expression, she said to me, "Little Ye brother, we must be careful when we go down the mountain. After this mountain, we will enter the territory of the Fiery Birds."

With Zhuo Ya's and my current combat strength, I felt we could handle the Fiery Birds.

However, in such a completely unfamiliar environment, it was always best to be cautious. It wouldn't be worth it to capsize in a ditch.

I nodded steadily and suddenly noticed something reflecting light to the west of the mountain range. I looked closer and saw what appeared to be aircraft wreckage!

Great! Now that we had confirmed our location, we wouldn't have to wander around like headless flies, searching for a needle in a haystack in this vast primeval forest.

Zhuo Ya and I confirmed our direction and walked towards it. Indeed, on our way down the mountain, we discovered the Fiery Birds' nest.

If you don't look, you don't know. Seeing it, I could only exclaim, "Holy crap."

These ferocious giant beasts were actually gregarious!

Zhuo Ya and I carefully hid in the trees. I saw that the nest contained not only the Fiery Birds, which were over two meters tall, like the ones I had seen before, but also some smaller Fiery Birds that only reached my waist.

Just the Fiery Birds I could see numbered no less than twenty.

It was indeed wise of us to be cautious. At first, I thought the Fiery Birds were solitary. I never expected them to be so numerous. If they had attacked us all at once, Zhuo Ya and I might not have been able to escape.

I gestured to Zhuo Ya to retreat, and we slowly backed away.

Revenge against the Fiery Birds was a minor goal for me. The immediate priority was to check the plane as soon as possible.

For the next day, Zhuo Ya and I traveled intermittently.

This entire forest seemed to be the hunting ground of the Fiery Birds. From time to time, we could hear their unique calls echoing through the trees. This made Zhuo Ya and I even more cautious.

As night fell, it started raining again, and Zhuo Ya and I had no choice but to find a sheltered spot to make do for the night.

Finally, at noon on the third day, Zhuo Ya and I reached the location of the crashed plane.

When we saw it, this product of modern civilization was broken in half in the middle.

The rear section was burned so badly that its original appearance was unrecognizable. Only the front half had suffered little damage.

I touched the cold fuselage with a touch of sadness. Even this crystallization of human intelligence had been destroyed on this nameless island. Did this mean we could never escape the clutches of the nameless island?

Zhuo Ya, on the other hand, had never seen a plane before. She was only amazed by its sheer size and didn't have the same particular feelings as I did.

She instinctively crawled into the broken section of the plane. After a while, she came out looking disappointed.

"Little Ye brother, there's nothing!"

Nothing?

How could that be!
