We continued walking, this time maintaining vigilance, waiting for Professor Gygax to reappear so we could send him packing.
However, it seemed the mastermind controlling Professor Gygax knew our intentions.
The more alert we were, the less he appeared.
From ancient times to the present, an arrow already shot is not frightening; the most terrifying thing is knowing someone is lurking in the shadows, constantly watching you, yet refraining from striking.
This forced us to remain on high alert.
As time passed, my head began to feel heavy, and so did everyone else's.
My sixth sense told me that Professor Gygax had not gone far.
He was still watching us intently from the shadows.
But the old man refused to show himself, which gave me a splitting headache. With only half a head left, he was still capable of employing tactics?
Was this guy waiting for us to be completely exhausted before launching a surprise attack?
My suspicion was soon confirmed.
After we had walked for a while and everyone showed signs of fatigue, the old man suddenly emerged from the darkness.
Professor Gygax still had that ghastly, grotesque appearance, standing behind me, with bits of flesh falling from his face.
A person who had long ceased to have vital signs kept reappearing before us.
How I wished all of this was just a nightmare, and that upon waking, nothing would have happened.
But Professor Gygax's cold, sinister gaze from not far away constantly reminded me.
All of this was real!
If we couldn't get rid of him, something disastrous would happen sooner or later!
I was frowning, but Sivel, standing beside me, seemed to have expected this. The moment Professor Gygax appeared, a cold smile spread across her face. Then, under everyone's watchful eyes, she pulled a fragmentation grenade from her waist, yanked the pin, and threw it towards Professor Gygax.
"Since you're haunting us, I'll have to send you to meet God!"
Sivel said coldly. Before her words had even finished, the grenade struck Professor Gygax's shoulder.
Damn it, does this woman want us all to die here?!
I had no idea how large the blast radius of this grenade was.
But with Qu Xiangyun and I standing at the front, a stray fragment could easily wound us.
Seeing the grenade hit Professor Gygax, I quickly pulled Qu Xiangyun and we both dove to the ground, shielding ourselves from the shrapnel.
A deafening explosion erupted, and I felt a wave of heat rush past my face.
"Boom!"
A blinding flash burst forth, and the ground shook violently!
This tunnel had been here for an unknown amount of time and was already cramped. After being hit by Sivel's grenade, stones immediately began to fall from the ceiling, and the ground started to tremble.
Damn it, Professor Gygax, weren't you disgusting?!
Now you're just a pile of bloody pulp, how can you track us now!
I have to say, Sivel is truly ruthless and speaks little, preferring action to words.
Seeing the bloodied pulp that should have been pixelated on the ground, Qu Xiangyun gagged and turned away. Hathaway was also quite nauseated, but only Sivel let out a smile, her expression unchanged. She then walked up to the bloody mass and examined it closely.
Though disgusted, I thought about it and walked over to Sivel's side.
After all, resurrection is a very sinister thing. Although Professor Gygax was gone, his remains might hold clues.
As I had expected, after Sivel and I searched patiently, we indeed found something unusual.
Professor Gygax's resurrection was not as simple as it seemed!
