I instinctively felt something was wrong. In this environment, if we were discovered, we would have almost no chance of escape.
"What do we do now?" Facing the situation, I felt a sense of urgency.
There were simply too many of those savages. Even if I could take down three or five, or even a dozen with a heroic effort, there were still so many more.
It seemed that both Vici and Richard's combat prowess were not very impressive.
"Dig outside quickly!" Richard said. "But how were we discovered?"
"What exactly happened?" I asked.
"This was a secret place I built before. This situation has occurred many times, and each time, we were able to hide here successfully," Richard explained. "But this time..."
I knew he wasn't lying, because the abundance of food prepared around us clearly indicated they had planned to stay here for a while.
"Is it because of me?" I asked.
No way? This was my first time here, and such a problem had already arisen. If these guys didn't suspect me, it would be a miracle.
"I believe you wouldn't betray us," Richard said. "But..."
As Richard spoke, he carefully examined my clothes.
It was then that I noticed some bloodstains on my chest.
If my guess was correct, this must have been left by one of the savages.
"Could it be that they tracked me by the scent of blood?" I asked.
"It's highly possible, but we can't worry about that now. Leaving this place is the most important thing!" Richard said through gritted teeth, then pulled out several shovels and pointed upwards. "Dig outwards from this spot!"
I nodded quickly and began to dig the tunnel.
The soil here wasn't particularly hard, so digging was relatively easy.
However, at the same time, I could clearly feel that the entrance was being damaged by something.
To be precise, the savages hadn't found the entrance itself, but were destroying everything around it.
"Destroy the entrance!" Richard urged.
"Okay!" Vici said, walking to the entrance and beginning to fill it with debris.
I didn't have time to watch, so I could only desperately dig the soil.
This process lasted for nearly ten minutes, when a faint explosion sound suddenly came from behind me.
Then I saw that the entrance had been blown open.
"They shouldn't be able to get through for a while," Richard said.
"Why didn't you use these things to deal with the savages earlier?" I asked. Judging by the sound of the explosion, they must have used explosives.
"These are limited in quantity," Richard replied.
"We tried traps before, and killed quite a few savages, but it was no use," Vici quickly added. "But our resources are limited, and in this situation, consumption is an unwise choice."
I nodded and continued to dig the tunnel.
Not long after, I suddenly felt a sound coming from behind me.
Turning around, I saw that the wall was starting to loosen.
The next moment, several savages poured out from inside.
"Quick!" Richard shouted urgently.
I didn't dare to be careless and dug the tunnel with all my might.
But it was clear that the savages wouldn't give us such an opportunity.
Richard charged forward first and grappled with a savage. The other savages rushed towards Richard, attacking him.
Vici took out a few explosive packs and threw them at the savages, knocking down several.
My expression changed. I didn't know how long it would take to reach the surface, but they two were already struggling to hold on.
I couldn't afford to worry about anything else. Grabbing the shovel in my hand, I charged towards a savage.
With one shovel, I knocked down one. With my other hand, I grabbed a savage's hair.
The other savages saw this and rushed forward.
My eyes turned red with battlelust. At this point, I couldn't afford to think too much. The shovel in my hand swung wildly.
All the savages who stood in my way were knocked to the ground.
But their numbers were simply too great. For every one I took down, another would take their place.
Moreover, this room wasn't very large to begin with. As more savages entered, the space available for us to evade and move became increasingly limited.
Just then, I suddenly saw Richard lying on the ground, a ghastly gash on his head, blood dripping continuously.
"Damn it!" I roared, directly charging to Richard's side, my shovel swinging frantically, knocking down all the savages nearby.
Then I dragged Richard to the side.
At this moment, Vici let out a scream. I looked back and saw that Vici also had a lot of bloodstains on his body.
And they probably had no explosives left now.
"Damn it, damn it!" I roared.
Richard suddenly grabbed my hand: "It's... good news, you can escape..."
"Hurry up and leave this place, don't worry about us!"
